TITA TALKS WITH BELGIN AKSOY, THE HEALING POWER OF WELLNESS: A SELFCARE TOOL FOR YOU!” AND GLOBAL WELLNESS DAY 2023.

It is a great privilege and pleasure to WELCOME BACK BELGIN AKSOY, THE FOUNDER OF GLOBAL WELLNESS DAY from ISTANBUL, TURKEY. GLOBAL WELLNESS DAY is an entirely not-for-profit day dedicated to living well, celebrated on the second Saturday of June every year. It is celebrated in 7 Continents and in over 170 Countries around the world. In this episode we talk about “THE HEALING POWER OF WELLNESS: A SELFCARE TOOL FOR YOU!” And GLOBAL WELLNESS DAY 2023.

It is said that “Dance is the joy of movement and the heart of life.” We are so excited and love that the 2023 theme of GLOBAL WELLNESS DAY is #dancemagenta. Dance is defined as, “the movement of the body in a rhythmic way, usually to music and within a given space, for the purpose of expressing an idea or emotion, releasing energy, or simply taking delight in the movement itself.” My Mother was a ballerina, and I have been surrounded by dance all of my life so this theme resonates with me on a very personal level. In this episode we discuss what inspired the theme #DanceMagenta for Global Wellness Day 2023, and Belgin elaborates on, “Dance is the universe moving within you. To dance is to free yourself and be one with the world. Dancing is getting away from stress, exercising your body and spreading happiness at the same time.” She also discuss how the #dancemagenta theme represents physical movement as well as spiritual connectivity and Belgin and I review the 3 steps she has delineated for #dancemagenta including: Dance With Your Body, Dance With Your Thoughts, and Dance With Life.

We also talk about the 7 steps meant to be for everyone regardless of one’s socio-economic background. They are intended to build bridges to further health and wellness communication, education, and understanding.
Walk for an hour.
Drink more water.
Don’t use plastic bottles.
Eat healthy food.
Do a good deed.
Have a family dinner with your loved ones.
Sleep at 10:00 pm.
