There are also 10 open mic spots to local acts and the challenge for an audience member to write and perform a poem based on suggestions from the audience.

    Find the Right Words: Jasmine Gardosi and Adele Hampton

    Jasmine Gardosi likes to write about weird things in unweird places – kind of like her, everywhere. She is the current Cheltenham Poetry Festival Slam Champion, last year’s Mix It Up Midlands Slam Champion and one of the winners of the International Pangaea Poetry Slam 2015. She has appeared on BBC Radio 3’s The Verb, was shortlisted for Birmingham Poet Laureate 2014/15 and was a finalist in the Out-Spoken Poetry Prize for Performance 2015.

    Adele Hampton was a member of the Washington DC 2013 Beltway Poetry’s National Slam Team. She has performed at The John F Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts and is a Capturing Fire Queer Spoken Word Summit Slam finalist

    Episode 7 Keisha Thompson and Ben Norris

    The final Find the Right Words of 2016, hosted by Jess Green. This is an edited but uncensored version of the night.

    Ben Norris is an actor and writer.
    In 2013 he became the UK All-Star Poetry Slam Champion and has since performed his spoken-word across the country, from Latitude Festival to the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. His work has been broadcast across BBC radio, his first poetry pamphlet was published in 2014 and his debut solo show, ‘The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Family‘, won the 2015 IdeasTap Underbelly Award at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival before touring the UK extensively in autumn 2016, finishing with a sell-out run at Southbank Centre.

    Keisha Thompson is a writer, poet, and performer. Keisha is also the Young People's Producer at the Contact Theatre, Manchester.

    Episode 6: Rebecca Tantony and Ben Mellor

    Ben Mellor returns to the same venue where he previously brought his touring show Anthropoetry, which as well as hitting the Edinburgh Frine twice, also toured Australia.
    In his own words: "I live in Manchester. I like cooking. I won the 2009 BBC Radio 4 National Poetry Slam. I no longer have a cat."

    Rebecca Tantony is a poet, and performer, and passionate teacher who has taught in San Francisco and also runs the Bristol branch of Hammer and Tongue. Her second collection "All the Journeys I Never Took" will be published by Burning Eye Books in 2017 and a live version funded by Arts Council England will also tour next year.

    This episode features a grand spanking new speed poet, open mic poems about hope for the world, no hope for the world, and 100 marriage proposals.
