#5 Tess Hatch
Tess Hatch is a Vice President at Bessemer Venture Partners, a Venture Capital firm managing over $5 Billion in investments. Tess studied Aerospace Engineering as an undergrad at the University of Michigan. She then completed two internships at SpaceX and Boeing before deciding to pursue her Master's Degree at Stanford. Tess joined BVP in 2017 and is now a Vice President focusing on frontier tech. This includes commercial space companies such as Rocket Labs and Spire.
This episode is hosted by Owen Marr and Alex Samra. Alex is the incoming external vice president (EVP) for SEDS. He is studying Aerospace Engineering and is extremely passionate about entrepreneurship in engineering. -
#4 Danny Ellis
Danny Ellis is the CEO of SkySpecs Inc, which develops drone software for the autonomous inspection of wind turbines. Danny attended UofM for his undergrad and graduate degrees in Aerospace Engineering. Today, SkySpecs has over 70 employees and closed their $17M Series C round in December of 2019.
In this Episode, Owen Marr and Danny Ellis walk through Danny's time at UofM, how SkySpecs has evolved over the years, and then Danny answers questions posed by SEDS members. Enjoy!
