A great account of the Great City

In this natural continuation of Mike Duncan’s legendary podcast series «the History of Rome» Robin Pierson tells the rest of the story: The roman emipre did NOT vanish when the western realm was lost to its germanic conquerors. It continued to florish, transform and influence world history for another thousand years from its new capital – Constantinopl, which the vikings came to call Miklagard – «the Great City» in old norse.
My favorite podcast

This is easily the best podcast I’ve listened to!
Best of the best

This is my all time favourite podcast. The first few episodes are like Mike Duncan’s History of Rome (which is great), but then it just gets better and better. Robin Pearson is a unique story teller and combines it with a depth and understanding that few can match.
Important history

This podcast, along with Lars Brownworth's 12 Byzantine Rulers, opened my eyes to the very exciting history of Byzantium. It works well as a continuation of Mike Duncan's podcast, but works just fine on its own.
