    342. The Knowledge to Action Gap

    342. The Knowledge to Action Gap

I had a conversation with a group of clients recently about hitting big goals and what it really takes to achieve them. It got me thinking about the gap between what we know and what we actually do in our businesses.
Here are my key takeaways from this episode:

We often look for new strategies and silver bullets, but the foundational strategies remain the same. If we implement them consistently, we'll see more success.

Many of us sit comfortably (and uncomfortably) in the knowledge-action gap, telling ourselves we don't know enough or need more time. But the real issue is often a lack of implementation.

Constantly comparing ourselves to others and thinking they have a secret sauce is a trap. The answer lies in completing the work and implementing what we already know.

If you've been in business for a while, you likely have the knowledge you need. It's about going back, finishing what you started, and being an implementer.

So, my challenge to you is to reflect honestly on your own knowledge-action gap. Are you in a procrastination habit that keeps you stuck? Have you made investments in your business that you haven't fully utilised?
Remember, we're not emotional toddlers - we're CEOs. It's up to us to show up, get the help we need, and do everything we can to achieve the success we want.

    341. Treating your business like your best client

    341. Treating your business like your best client

I wanted to dive into a conversation that I've been having a lot lately - honouring the time you block for yourself in your business. It's so important to treat your business like your best client and prioritise the work you need to do to grow and take it further.
I recently had a chat with a client who told me she blocks out time for herself and her projects, but then she moves them. Every single time. Sound familiar? I know a lot of people struggle with this.
When you do this, you're robbing your future self of the growth, revenue, and opportunities you want in your business. There will always be other things you can do, but are you actually investing the time to grow your business the way you want?
Here are a few questions to ask yourself:

How can you decide to make your business your best client? What would that look like?

How do you honor the commitments you make to yourself when you block time in your calendar? How do you hold that time and make sure you get projects done that will move your business forward?

How do you become your business's best brand ambassador? How are you showing up and making it easy to build your brand and connect with people?

How are you connecting with your audience in new, different ways and having conversations?

If you consistently treat your business as your best client and show up as your brand ambassador, I guarantee it will have a cumulative effect. People will remember you because they see you so often.
Let's make the decision today to invest time in our businesses and honour the commitments we make to ourselves. Our future selves will thank us!

    340. Client Management - Setting yourself up to work with great clients

    340. Client Management - Setting yourself up to work with great clients

I'm getting real with you today about client management and dealing with those sticky situations that can come up when working with clients. This is a topic that comes up a lot in my own community and in the masterclasses I've been teaching, so I thought I'd share my thoughts and experiences to help you out.
    We're chatting about:

Getting clear on your ideal client and the type of person you want to work with. What are your non-negotiables and boundaries? Naming and claiming your audience is like a filter that helps you attract the right people from the start.

Having a solid vetting process in place. Ask meaningful questions in your discovery calls that help you determine if a client is a good fit. Things like their goals, budget, past experiences, and willingness to take action.

Setting expectations early and often. Communicating clearly how you work, what you need from the client, and what they can expect from you. Putting it in writing and make sure you're constantly reiterating it throughout the relationship.

Being the leader in the relationship. You're the expert and it's up to you to guide the client and the project. Create a roadmap, set milestones, and keep them on track.

Working with clients you love and who are a great fit for you and your biz is the goal. It makes the whole process so much more fun and enjoyable. So take the time to set yourself up for success from the start.

    339. Creating higher value thinking

    339. Creating higher value thinking

Today, I want to dive into a topic that I absolutely love talking about - creating higher level thinking. This is something I discuss with my Amplify Mastermind clients and it's all about pushing yourself to think bigger, develop unique thought leadership, and come up with your own concepts and ideas that challenge your clients' thinking.
If you've been in business for a while and want to be seen as a leader in your industry, it's crucial to keep evolving your thinking and how you talk about what you do. Constantly learning and growing is key to differentiating yourself and standing out from the crowd.
    We're chatting about:
Constantly evolving your thinking and how you talk about what you do to differentiate yourself.
Using the seven pillars of thought leadership to develop higher level thinking.
Asking yourself what you've learned and heard that's new, and how you can bring it together uniquely.
I believe that the more you create, the more you're able to create. It's like exercising a muscle - if you don't use it, it gets weaker. But if you're always curious about what you do and how you talk about it, you'll keep evolving in the market.

    338. Is comparison killing your business & joy?

    338. Is comparison killing your business & joy?

Today, I want to talk about something that's been on my mind lately - comparison-itis. You know, that feeling when you're scrolling through social media and you start comparing yourself to others? Yeah, we've all been there.
The other day, I shared a reel about money management and someone left a comment saying that they don't look at their financials because they always end up comparing themselves to others. That got me thinking about how comparison can really kill your business (and your joy).
First off, I want to say that comparing ourselves to others is totally natural, especially when we're working in the digital space. We're constantly seeing what everyone else is doing online. But here's the thing - if we don't deal with comparison quickly and intentionally, it can seriously damage our confidence and hold us back from growing our businesses.
So, what can we do about it?
We're chatting about a few things that have helped me:
    Acknowledging the comparison
    Curating your space
    Focusing on your own journey
We get to choose what we consume and how we react to it. So, let's be intentional about catching those comparison thoughts and replacing them with proactive, positive ones.
