    155. I HATE TRACKERS. Okay, let’s call it a love/hate relationship.

You asked, and I answered!  What Do I Think About Health Trackers? How Do I Feel About Different Weight Loss Methods? How Much Water Should We Drink in a Day? I love your questions, and I love to talk. Sounds like a match made in heaven if you ask me. I did keep my answers short on this episode, and I have to tell you it’s well worth the fifteen minutes to give it a listen. SPOILER ALERT: I HATE TRACKERS. Okay, let’s call it a love/hate relationship. My husband gave me a tracker for Christmas. At first I loved it! I’d wake up and immediately go to the data to see “how I did” sleeping. I began to check the app several times each day. Yup, I got a little obsessed with the data. I can’t believe I’m going to tell you what happened next, but here goes, I allowed the data to dictate my mood. Here’s what I mean: if the app told me I slept great, then awesome, I was going to have a good day. If the app told me my sleep was poor and that I should consider resting, I knew it was going to be a rough day. I got so fixated on the app that I finally returned it. Yes, I am tracker-free, and my stress level is lower now. I will say that I did find some value in the data, and I wish I could use a tracker for a few days a month and then put it away. I also know that to get accurate data, you need to wear it consistently. Listen to this short episode to hear how I feel about how much water we should drink in a day. Air Dr. I've been using the Air Doctor air purifier for almost a year and absolutely love it! I first heard about it from Dr. Mark Hyman, and even though it was a bit of a splurge compared to what I usually spend, I'm so glad I invested. Every time I change the filter and see all the gunk it collects, I smile, knowing it's doing a great job keeping my air clean! And I'm so happy that all that gunk isn't going into my body.  Click here to purchase. ______ VitaliI knew little about copper peptides until I heard Vitali founder Debbi Barber on a podcast. She was talking about the power of copper peptides to help reduce the appearance of scars. Since I have plenty of scars, I thought I’d give it a try. I used the GHK-Cu Serum on my scars and my face. Within days, the skin on my face became so much softer! And after a few months of use, my skin felt thicker and smoother. Bonus that my mastectomy scars also started to lighten! 154. Is NAD The Fountain Of Youth?

Today’s podcast guest, Dr. Sandra Kaufmann, is considered a pioneer in true longevity medicine and is an NAD expert. She has spent the last twenty years learning how Not To Age. She has improved her skin, vision, muscle recovery, and immune system. Interestingly, she shared that even though her physician friends would tease her about her hacks, many would later, in secret, ask for her help with anti-aging. What is NAD? NAD stands for Nicotinamide Adenine Dinucleotide. It’s a natural molecule found in every cell in your body and is essential for staying alive and healthy. Think of NAD as a helper molecule that gives your cells the energy they need to work properly. What does NAD do? NAD helps with: Turning food into energy Repairing damaged cells and DNA Brain function and memory Healthy aging Muscle function Metabolism Without enough NAD, your cells can’t produce energy efficiently. Why do people talk about NAD and aging? NAD levels naturally decline with age, particularly after age 40. Lower NAD levels may be linked to:  Fatigue Poor or disrupted sleep Slower metabolism Brain fog Researchers are studying whether boosting NAD might support healthier aging. How can NAD levels be increased? Supplements Common NAD-related supplements include: NMN (Nicotinamide Mononucleotide) NR (Nicotinamide Riboside) Vitamin B3 forms like niacin These are “building blocks” your body may use to make more NAD. NAD 101 NAD is vital for energy and cell repair, but levels decrease with age, leading to increased interest in supplements and IV therapy. Research is ongoing, and while some people report benefits, it’s not for everyone. For many healthy adults, NAD-related supplements appear reasonably safe when used appropriately, but you should always discuss with your healthcare provider if you:  Take medications Have liver disease, cancer, diabetes, or kidney problems Are pregnant or breastfeeding Very high doses of certain vitamin B3 products can cause side effects. If you want to educate yourself about anti-aging, today’s episode is not to be missed! ______ Vitali I knew little about copper peptides until I heard Vitali founder Debbi Barber on a podcast. 152. Is It Ever Too Late?

To lose weight, get stronger, lower cancer risk, or prevent osteoporosis? These were my big questions for today's guest, Zora Benhamou, the Queen of Mid-Life Hacks. What did I mean? Is it ever too late to eat healthy, start an exercise routine, or learn to meditate? Zora's answer surprised me; she said, "It's Never Too Late!" However, there's no time like the present to get started. The longer you wait, the fewer results you may see. She told me that exercise is a key component and that walking is a good place for most of us to start; however, adding more muscle can truly change how your body ages. Here's how adding in some weight training can help: 1. Improved Cardiovascular Health: Increased muscle mass is linked to better heart health. 2. Increased Energy and Metabolism: Muscles burn more calories than fat, boosting metabolism and energy levels. 3. Improved Cognitive Function: Muscle health is associated with better cognitive function, and strength training may enhance it. 4. Increased Longevity: Greater muscular strength is linked to increased longevity. Zora had more suggestions for hacking your age. One of my favorites was making my skin look tighter and less crepey. Midlife girls, you know exactly what I'm talking about! She recommended trying the Vitali products, which I ordered immediately. Fingers crossed. I'm trying the body creme and skin serum. I will keep you posted on my results! ______ Vitali Regenerative Skin Care Have you heard about copper peptides? I hadn't either until I listened to today's guest talk about them on her podcast. She interviewed the founder of Vitali Regenerative Skin Care, Debbi Barber. Listen to that episode here. I was so intrigued with their discussion about copper peptides and how they can soften scars, regenerate skin, and even help crepey skin look better. It's not often that I stop what I'm doing, read research, and order the products, but that's precisely what I did! And then I emailed Vitali Skin Care and asked for a coupon for my community. In hindsight, I should have asked for the coupon for my order, but nonetheless, you get 20% off your order! I'm trying body creme and skin serum. I will keep you posted on my results! 151. Does Alcohol Cause Cancer?

I like having a cocktail with girlfriends. And before I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I never gave it a second thought. Alcohol was part of my social life, or I'd have a glass of wine on a flight to chill out. Recent research has made me rethink my choices. Research shared by the Susan G. Komen Center tells us that each cocktail I consume can increase my breast cancer risk by 7%. And 2-3 drinks per day can increase my risk by 20%. I work too damn hard on my health to increase my breast cancer risk by 20% for something I often do mindlessly. Does this mean I don't drink any alcohol? NOPE. This means that if I really want that glass of wine, I will make an informed decision and enjoy every sip. The "old" me would have grabbed the wine and probably a second glass without considering what it might be doing inside my body. According to today's guest, she believes there are only two things that we consume that can really increase our risk of getting cancer. Alcohol is one. Any guesses as to what number two is? 150. Does a high-stress life increase cancer risk?

How often do you hear someone say, "I'm so stressed!"? I hate to admit it, but I say it a few times a week. I used to think being "busy" was part of my identity. Staying busy made me feel like I was achieving important things. But during my cancer journey, I realized I didn't have the energy to stay busy all the time. I began to see how stressed I was from constantly being in motion. Today's podcast guest is Kerstin Lindquist, a QVC host and stress management expert. After witnessing her mother's struggle with dementia and seeing "black spots" on her brain scan that doctors attributed to stress, Kerstin researched and discovered key strategies to help lower stress in your life. I had two key questions for Kerstin: Are some people better at handling stress? How do kids handle stress compared to adults? I can't wait for you to hear her answers! I walked away from today's episode with several EASY tips to lower my stress. One suggestion took me just a few seconds to try and I already feel less stressed. Spoiler alert: it involves adjusting the brightness on your cell phone. ______ Body Deli Why I love the Phoenix Lift Oil from Body Deli: Botanical Powerhouses for Deep Nourishment In addition to its scientifically advanced components, Phoenix Lift Face & Neck Oil features a curated blend of nutrient-dense, natural oils: Sea Buckthorn Oil: Rich in omega fatty acids and antioxidants, it promotes skin regeneration and combats free radical damage. 149. Can Complaining Change Your Brain?

Want to hear about the offbeat New Year’s resolution I cooked up? My husband and I made a pact to stop grumbling, ditch negativity and silence our murmurs. You might be thinking, “But you always seem so upbeat!” The truth is, like everyone else, I have my off days. My husband and I slipped into the trap of letting negativity take over our conversations. We found ourselves griping about everything from the rain to the news to the traffic. Suddenly, our evenings felt like full-blown complaint parties. Once we noticed this habit was stealing our joy and affecting our health, we knew it was time to make a change. It hasn’t exactly been easy, but now our conversations feel lighter and more playful. Our evenings seem brighter and we’re both sleeping better than ever. Digging into the research on negative conversations, I was stunned to learn just how much this habit can reshape your brain and not in a good way. Want to break the habit too? Try the tips below and let me know how it goes! 1. Your Brain Gets “Wired” for Negativity When you frequently complain or focus on negative thoughts, the brain strengthens those neural pathways. The brain uses neuroplasticity, meaning it strengthens circuits that are used often. Repeated negative thinking trains the brain to default to criticism, worry and dissatisfaction. It’s like walking the same trail in the woods again and again. The more you use it, the clearer and easier that path becomes. 2. Stress Hormones Stay Elevated Frequent negativity can trigger the body’s stress response. Key effects include: Increased cortisol (the stress hormone) Activation of the fight-or-flight response Increased inflammation in the body Chronically elevated stress hormones are linked to: Weight gain (especially belly fat) Sleep problem Weakened immune system 3. Your Brain’s Memory and Learning Can Decline Chronic negativity and stress can affect the hippocampus, an important brain area involved in memory and learning. High stress and cortisol over time may: Reduce new neuron growth Impair memory Make concentration harder To break free from this cycle, try focusing on solutions or weaving gratitude into your daily routine. Even small shifts like these can help your brain lean toward the positive. ______ Vitali I knew little about copper peptides until I heard Vitali founder Debbi Barber on a podcast. 148. Copper Peptides: Is the Hype Worth It?

Copper peptides are little powerhouses in skincare! These tiny chains of amino acids, paired with copper, are known for their remarkable ability to rejuvenate the skin. They help boost collagen and elastin production, making them great for keeping your skin firm and elastic. Plus, they're awesome at speeding up wound healing and calming inflammation. If you're looking to improve your skin's texture and achieve a youthful glow, copper peptide products might be your new best friends! On top of that, copper has antioxidant properties, helping to protect your skin from environmental damage. Overall, incorporating copper peptides into your routine can be a lovely way to support healthy, glowing skin! Today's episode should answer all of the copper peptide questions! Even if you didn't know you had any questions ;) I knew next to nothing about copper peptides and I was suspicious of all of the success stories I was hearing about peptides. I decided to take a deeper look into a few different peptides, including GHK-cu products from the company Vitali Regenerative Skincare. After using the products consistently for four weeks, my skin is smoother and softer and honestly, it looks more vibrant than it did in 2025! Vitali is offering my community an unheard-of deal: 20% off their entire line of products (most Vitali discounts are 10%), so MOVE FAST! I currently use the 3% medical-grade serum and the Skin Awakening Moisturizer.
