    Resisting The Botox Bandwagon, Gay Dating & The Metaverse - "Tub Talks" installment

    This week in The Labia Lounge I did another informal Tub Talks yarn with a dear friend of mine by the river in Warby. We chat about everything from his experience growing up and figuring himself out as a gay man, gay dating and how tricky the scene can be, gender conditioning and neurodivergence, Web 3 and the Metaverse. We also delve into some strong opinions on beauty labour and how we can resist conforming to the beauty standards expected of us, how not getting all the cosmetic procedures like Botox, that're becoming so normalised now, is activism and feminist advocacy in action. And we talk about the societal obsession with youth and how to age gracefully without being overtaken by pressures to resist this natural process with injectable interventions.     Mental Health, Healthy Masculinity, Self Esteem and Rejection with Jackson Tozer

    This week on The Labia Lounge I chatted with a friend and legend on screen, Jackson Tozer. Jackson's a multi-award winning Actor, Writer and Director based in Melbourne. Jackson has played a multitude of characters on both Australian and international screens. Beyond his on-screen achievements, Jackson has earned acclaim for his openness in discussing personal struggles as a guest on The Imperfects Podcast. His episode resonated widely, reaching #3 on the Australian Apple charts upon release. Inspired by this experience, Jackson debuted his first solo live comedy show, Jackson Tozer's Assemble, to a completely sold out run and finished in the top 3 highest rated shows at the 2024 Melbourne Fringe Festival. In this eppy we cover a lot of ground so I encourage you to stick with it cos it’s a long one and we really get into the meatier stuff towards the second half. We chat about Jackson’s struggles with mental health, grief, drug addiction, and handling rejection, both in the film and TV industry as well as in his dating life.
