Je slaat er dingen in op en je kunt beelden, geuren, geluiden, smaken en gevoel terughalen wanneer je het wilt of wanneer je aan iets wat er op lijkt herinnerd wordt. Maar kloppen je herinneringen wel? Of zit je geheugen je soms voor de gek te houden?     Het nieuws is de laatste tijd vaak negatief. En daarnaast is het moeilijk om fake van echt te onderscheiden. Veel mensen zijn daarom gestopt met het nieuws volgen. Geen krant meer, geen journaal kijken, niet meer doomscrollen... Hebben deze mensen gelijk? Is het niet juist goed om het nieuws te volgen en op de hoogte te zijn van wat er speelt in de wereld? Is dat een vereist stukje burgerschap en betrokkenheid?     De meeste mensen deugen... niet?

    Deugen mensen van nature? Psychologie professor Philip Zimbardo is onlangs overleden en deed onderzoek naar alles rondom dit onderwerp. Bekend van het Stanford Prison Experiment, wat behoorlijk onder vuur is komen te liggen, ook door Rutger Bregman die met zijn boek De Meeste Mensen Deugen probeerde aan te tonen dat Zimbardo het mis had.
