We sit down with Lindsey this week, who is a survivor of Intimate Partner Violence (IPV). She provides and account of her relationship and how that emotional abuse continues to impact her today.

Substance use and Intimate Partner Violence have a long and complicated correlation. A recent analysis found that youth and adults alike who experience IPV are 1.8% more likely to develop a substance use disorder (Devries et al., 2014). Studies looking at the percentage of individuals in substance use treatment facilities show that on average, 50% of all females receiving treatment have experienced IPV. -
