This week Andy is still stuck in lockdown but managed to fit in a chat with one of the island of Ireland's best MMA fighters the one and only Chris "Menace" Stringer. Chris is a veteran of the game and most recently fought on Probellum MMA after an almost two year lay off. Chris is a member of the Team Kaobon set up in Liverpool alongside the likes of Mike Grundy and Darren Till. We chat about the early years of training, Chris's transition into coaching, his future plans and what it's like being part of a UFC title challenging fight camp. We also talk about Chris taking on Rich Clementi and the amazing fight with Greg Loughran. Chris is known for taking on any competitor on any notice at all and for his undoubted talent. Today Andy was with Jack Aaron Stoops of the the outstanding Super Rad MMA show. They chat about combat sport in lockdown, what's next for MMA, obviously Jon Jones gets a mention. It's a weird time in the combat sports world right now with uncertainty around shows and promotions. But hopefully this will lift your mood a tiny bit. The guys discuss head kicks to a grounded opponent, use of headbutts and knees on the ground, the design of the MMA gloves used in the UFC, possible upcoming fights and much more. Gary is a former marathon runner and more importantly a multiple BJJ Champion in the very difficult heavyweight division. Gary talks training, BJJ, fitness and much, much more. This week Phil and Andy had the extreme pleasure of sitting down with the one and only Dec "The Bandit" Larkin. Dec is an ever present feature of Irish MMA now days, he is a former professional
competitor and now a superstar referee. Dec is now also the head of officiating at the global MMA brand Brave Combat Federation. We talk what makes a good referee, Dec's fighting career and what it is like being a world traveller with Brave. Dec is a modest person and has achieved a great deal in the MMA community and is someone who committed to improving officiating standards and fighter safety; Dec is also a guy who simply doesn't get the credit he so richly deserves.
