817 Podcast - Fort Worth's Monday Morning Show
Fort Worth Weekly Critic's Choice Podcast of the Year"Fort Worth's Monday morning meeting." - Bud KennedyDo you love Fort Worth and care about what goes on in our amazing city? Well, welcome to the 817 Podcast, a weekly Monday morning show hosted by two Fort Worthians who banter and dissect the biggest stories in local culture, politics, and business. EJ Carrion is a local tech entrepreneur, and Ann Zadeh is a former city council member and the current Director of Community Design Fort Worth.Ann and EJ will host a diverse guest list of local leaders that drive Fort Worth’s future. We believe Fort Worth can be a nationally known destination for innovation, creativity, and economic opportunity. However, the climate in the city today is polarizing between an evolving community that deals with historic Cowtown roots and a wave of progressive newcomers. What we do today and in the next decade is crucial to the future of the Funk. How we respond to political friction, wealth inequality, and social injustice in our communities can make or break our national reputation. Join us weekly as we do our part to keep either from happening. Have a story you want us to highlight? DM us @817pod on Instagram or email us at ejspeaks@gmail.com.

I appreciate the effort and dedication it takes to produce this podcast. It’s great that Fort Worth has finally gotten a dedicated pod that’s solely devoted to keeping up with current events in one of the largest cities in the US. However, the negativity that permeates the host’s narrative is disappointing. I greatly enjoyed the more positive point of view the temporary host (Ryan) had while he was guest hosting for Jimmy. There’s a lot of great things going on in Fort Worth and I wish we could focus on finding common ground vs. pushing a political narrative. There’s a lot of us that love Fort Worth and want nothing more than our city to grow and thrive. That being said, keep up the work. I will continue to listen regardless because I love this city.
Disheartening

Thought I found a good informational podcast. I enjoy different opinions, listening to others is how we learn and grow. Liked they have people on for information. Combining different ideas and working together is what makes something great. These hosts just have such a negative view about anyone who thinks different than them. Found some of their “jokes” or sarcastic comments very offensive. Shame great idea could have been a good podcast for all.
Fort Worth hate

They’ve had a pretty one-dimensional MSNBC style takes since the founding. I’ve listened since because at least they’re talking Fort Worth. EJ’s seething rage for my family and all others who call this great city home has made this unlistenable.

Thanks to Ann and EJ for the ground level conversations about Fort Worth. We need more even-keeled analysis of issues, not posturing for clicks. Refreshing.
