@MsL3Rs ,

It Worked!

I used the tips from episode #6 to get my Donors Choose project funded! @myadventuresinesl knows what she’s talking about and generously shares her knowledge with other teachers of ELLs.

Practical tips ready to go

I’ve been a teacher for 20+ years, teaching one year of ESL Reading to intermediate to advanced 9th and 10th graders and about ten years as an ELAR teacher who worked with mainstreamed intermediate to advanced ELL’s. This is good, basic content for ESL teachers of all levels of experience, but especially newer teachers. I never feel I’ve learned everything there is to know, and I always appreciate refreshers and reminders of things I want to do. Listening to this now is a great way to begin planning and stirring your motivation for a new year. I like the first strategy: plan and schedule your self care as thoroughly as you do your lessons. Looking forward to more episodes.

This is great for first year teachers who teach ESL students.
