Recorded just one week before Ellie gave birth to her little bub! We welcome special guest Sara of Within Two Worlds (@within.two.worlds) to talk us through the emotional and spiritual preparation for the journey of birth. Sara is an emerging birth and postpartum Doula, as well as a yoga teacher and massage therapist combining all of these specialties in the services she offers.

We discuss fear release, hypnobirthing, postpartum care, and closing the bones ceremony. This episode is not just for mamas to be, but covers valuable advice to anyone supporting a new mother or just generally curious about the birth journey.

Sara sees doulas as a “birth sister”, and provides full spectrum packages throughout the entire pregnancy, birth and postpartum period as well as offers separate postnatal packages to support mamas and families through this tender transition.

    12. Am I ready to part ways with a friend? Cutting ties and moving on when the friendship has run its course

    12. Am I ready to part ways with a friend? Cutting ties and moving on when the friendship has run its course

This is a raw one, with Ellie opening up about being on the receiving end of a “friend breakup”. Ali shares the challenges she’s facing at the moment with a tough decision of when to walk away from a friendship, and when do owe them an explanation?

What makes these situations so tricky to navigate is that we don’t have a rulebook or guidelines. We seem to know what heartbreak feels like, and how to get through a breakup from a romantic relationship - but friendship seems to be a different concept altogether.

We’ve also noticed that we can feel shame about a friendship dissolving, whether on mutual terms or after a blow up.

We’ve all been there, so let’s talk about and work through those big feelings - together.

Don't skip past this week's reflection section! And please let us know if you try any of our tools we shared.

    10. Am I ready to face my relationship fears? Let’s talk relationship doubts and whether they’re normal

    10. Am I ready to face my relationship fears? Let’s talk relationship doubts and whether they’re normal

Is this enough? Are we happy? Is this going to last? Are they the one? Hello intrusive thoughts, you’re not alone if you have doubts in your relationship, even if things are great with your partner. Let’s talk about how our brains are wired and speak some of these fears out loud to release any guilt we may feel for thinking them in the first place.

If you feel restlessness on any level in your relationship, this isn’t necessarily a red flag to run the other way and never look back. You could have anxious tendencies, be facing limiting beliefs, or struggling with thought patterns you didn’t even know you have.

Hear us out, there is absolutely a time to tune into yourself and listen to your intuition - you know if you’re being mistreated or not feeling fulfilled and we need to call this out. But if you find yourself wondering why your brain sometimes creates scenarios and doubts in your mind, despite being in a happy and loving relationship, then this episode is for you.

    9. Am I ready for the hot seat? Listener Q&A: Your questions answered by Ali and Ellie

    9. Am I ready for the hot seat? Listener Q&A: Your questions answered by Ali and Ellie

You asked, we answered. Thanks for being absolute legends (and deep thinkers like us) and asking us some juicy questions that we got to sit down and answer on this week’s episode.

We didn’t want this episode to be yet another ‘wrap up of 2023’ style episode topped with bragging rights and the like. Why? Because this time of year is often one that draws out the hustle culture in us, and our philosophy has always been to not let that narrative drive our minds or our actions.

But instead this ep gave us a chance to reflect on the important things like why we started the pod, our values and aspirations with this passion project, and how much we enjoy connecting with you.

A few highlights include the challenges faced when sharing online and a long list of everything we’re fortunate enough to get out of Am I ready.

As always, we have our Reflection Section featuring carefully curated journal prompts to help you along this journey with us. This week’s prompts we hope will bring your awareness to how awesome you are and that you are enough; however you managed to make it through this year and (almost) out the other side.

    8. Am I ready to have a baby? The guy’s perspective: hearing from our partners on this big question and why they may or may not be ready

    8. Am I ready to have a baby? The guy’s perspective: hearing from our partners on this big question and why they may or may not be ready

If you’re somewhere on this journey with your partner, this is the episode for you. We quizzed the boys on whether or not they feel ready for this next chapter and what specifically plays on their minds when weighing it up.

Speaking from our own experience, we are often quick to assume everything is about us and that our partners aren’t ready because of a list of reasons that might not be the case at all.

While this is the type of conversation usually had between a couple and generally behind closed doors, we hope we can offer some reassurance by bringing you this unfiltered perspective.

    Plus an exciting pregnancy announcement!!

Listen with or send this to your partner, and please let us know if this is a relatable one for you.
