    In times of disappointment -339

    In times of disappointment -339

Whoever believes in Him will not be disappointed.” Romans 10:11

One thing that is true about all of us is that, we all face disappointments. In every area of our lives, whether it be in our relationships, marriage, business, ministry, work place, life situation, etc. there is always disappointments that we have to overcome.

To be disappointed is to be discouraged or sad because of an unmet expectation regarding someone or something.

“Losses and disappointments are the trials of our faith, our patience, and our obedience.

“You know how addiction works. It starts like this: There’s some kind of disappointment or distress in your life. As a result you choose to deal with that distress with an agent; it might be sex, it might be drugs, it might be alcohol.

“Disappointment and failure are not signs that God has forsaken you or stopped loving you.

Be very careful when you get discouraged and disappointed. This is a pivotal moment in regard to how you walk with the Lord in this specific season of your life. You can either dwell on the negative, which will cause you to stumble because your disappointment can easily zap the spiritual strength out of you, or you can focus on Christ. Keeping your mind on the Lord and the love of God will help your feet from stumbling. By doing so, you live in the light of eternity and you learn to trust in God’s will. What’s your response going to be? The next move you make after disappointment is crucial to your spiritual health.

    Pray in times of disappointment

Be vulnerable before the Lord. God already knows how you feel. Don’t try to hide your emotions, but instead bring them to Him. I know first-hand that disappointment is painful. Disappointments in my life has led to many tears. It’s either your disappointment is going to drive you away from God or it is going to drive you to God. God understands how you feel. Talk to Him about your questions. Talk to Him about your doubts. Talk to Him about your confusion. He knows that you are struggling with these things and more. Be open and allow Him to encourage you, comfort you, guide you, and remind you of His sovereignty.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, saves those whose spirit is crushed." -Psalm 34:19
"Cast your cares upon the Lord who will give you support." -Psalm 55:23

    2 Corinthians 4:8-9 ESV
    We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed;

Things About Mary You May Not Know - Ep 338

Things About Mary You May Not Know - Ep 338

8 INTERESTING FACTS ABOUT MARY THE MOTHER OF JESUS
Fact #1: Mary comes from the Old Testament name Miriam which carries a meaning of bitterness, sorrow and trouble.
Mary was from the tribe of Judah and the lineage of David. This was a. fulfillment of the prophecy (Isaiah 11:1, Jeremiah 23:5-6)
Fact #3: Mary was poor and was raised in a small, remote village called Nazareth.
Fact #4: Mary was uneducated according to the standard of the world but knew God for herself.
Fact #5: Mary was in the first stage of marriage. In Jewish practices, marriages had 3 stages. In the first step was the signing of the contract called a ketubbah.
The couple was married but were not permitted to have sex. That why the Bible says she was betrothed. A betrothal could only be broken by death or divorce.
Which is why although they had not yet engaged in sex, Joseph was going to divorce her.
Fact #6: How old was Mary when she gave birth to Jesus? Betrothal usually happened right after puberty so Mary was likely in her early teens when she became pregnant and gave birth to Jesus.
Fact #7: Due to her pregnancy Mary did not enter the second stage of marriage until after Jesus was born. In this stage, the marriage was consummated. And in the final stage, a celebratory feast was held.
Fact #8: Jesus was Mary’s firstborn. She had other children afterwards (Luke 2:7.) She had four sons and an undisclosed number of daughters (Mark 6:3; Matt 13:55,56)

Put a little spring in your step

Put a little spring in your step

    Spring revival
    KJV
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

This means that our knowledge of men can no longer be based on their outward lives (indeed, even though we knew Christ as a man we do not know him like that any longer). For if a man is in Christ he becomes a new person altogether—the past is finished and gone, everything has become fresh and new. All this is God’s doing, for he has reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ; and he has made us agents of the reconciliation. God was in Christ personally reconciling the world to himself—not counting their sins against them—and has commissioned us with the message of reconciliation. We are now Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were appealing direct to you through us. As his personal representatives we say, “Make your peace with God.” For God caused Christ, who himself knew nothing of sin, actually to be sin for our sakes, so that in Christ we might be made good with the goodness of God.

    2 Cor 5:17

There should be evidence of your faith, your salvation, your walk.  I give six examples this week.

    Love you,

Why Did He Come? (Episode 334)

Going heavy on this Resurrection Sunday.
    Why did He come?

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.  Luke 19:10

    A challenge to do better.

    J.O.Y.

    Great Commission:
Go, therefore, and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,

    Greatest Commandments:
But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.“Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments” (Matthew 22:37–40).

A Laurie ,

True Bible Believing, Guidance in Christ’s Church

Rev Kenn ceaselessly teaches of the Lord Christ and directly from the Holy Bible, but so well framed in what we as Christians face today (not that we face anything different than the Church of centuries ago, but definitely, we see new ways evil will try to tempt us away). Kenn is always uplifting, and often with a bit of humor. In Speak Life Church, Rev Kenn brings us the Word - wherever we are, and whenever we hear, we are joined together in the Lord. This ministry in podcast form is a blessing! Thank you, Rev Kenn.

Kenn’s ministry

First off I want to thank Kenn for his ministry. Personally I have felt distant from my physical church but The Speak Life Podcast has kept me grounded. This show is a wonderful once a week quick lesson, sermon, and bible reading that is well done.
