    Deciding How Long to Work with a Hard-to-Work-With Person

    Deciding How Long to Work with a Hard-to-Work-With Person

    * Archive *

    Face it - we all have to "deal with" people that seem to be bad fits for us. It might be a tough boss or coworker you just don't seem to click with... For kids, teens, and young adults it may be a coach who you don't feel respects you or the rest of the team, "but gets results"... or a teacher who just feels TOXIC but is the only choice your student has for a necessary class. There are several instances where the most common
    bits of advice of "just suck it up" or "move on and go somewhere else" just aren't viable options at the beginning.On this episode from the "Asymmetric Habits" live broadcast archive with Jonathan Pishner of Apex Counseling and Jerry Handley of Viking Performance Training, we'll use our experiences with these situations to help give strategies for dealing with these uncomfortable situations, and deciding when enough is enough.

    You Gotta do the Thing!

    You Gotta do the Thing!

    I remember several years ago when I started taking self- and business development seriously was when I first heard the term "Success Zombies", describing people who to go conferences and seminars to learn but then never apply the new knowledge.

    This same description can be applied in many areas or our life - we learn new tactics, come up with new ideas, or make new promises... but if we don't actually DO THE THING, then nothing happens.

    Same with things we want to achieve - we must DO THE WORK, not just idly hope success comes our way. You Gotta Do the Thing... on today's Asymmetrics Habits with Jonathan Pishner and Jerry Handley!

    I Want to do the Cool Thing

    I Want to do the Cool Thing

    * Archives *

    Have you ever felt an undeniable urge to do what all the cool kids are doing?

    No? Well, me either…

    Just kidding! Wanting to join a popular trend is undoubtably a part of the modern human experience, whether at school, work, our neighborhood, or these days a more global pull such as trends that go viral on social media.

    Unfortunately constantly jumping from trend to trend makes a lot of long-term progress untenable, so in this episode from the archives we talk about wanting to do the cool thing!

    Is Watching TV, Scrolling Social Media, or Playing Video Games the Same as Self-Care?

    Is Watching TV, Scrolling Social Media, or Playing Video Games the Same as Self-Care?

    Self-care is a hot buzzword these days, and honestly we're glad there's more attention on the subject. But what qualifies as self-care?

    Probably the top way people spend down time is scrolling through the smartphone or watching tv. It's engaging, and it's a time to turn our brains off.

    After all everyone has a smartphone these days, and our parents could never have dreamed everyone would have tvs as big as we do either with such a selection of shows, movies, or media at our fingertips.

    But just because it's a way to shut off for a while, does that mean tv and phones would also qualify as self-care?

    That's today's topic of Asymmetric Habits!
