15 Min Guided Meditation - Be Kind to Yourself During Difficult Times Mindful Moments with Shirley Archer

This 15 minute guided meditation increases self-acceptance, kindness and loving compassion. Be gentle with and supportive of yourself. Meditation is a way to find peace in uncertain times. As we face living with the coronavirus and the possibility of covid-19, we must manage stress and anxiety and be our own best friend. Mindfulness, self-compassion, kindness and loving awareness are all ways in which we can live confidently, embrace uncertainty and extend kindness both to ourselves and to those who face challenges as they live with fears and loss.

Meditating, particularly during the coronavirus pandemic can help to calm your mind, quiet racing thoughts and settle anxiety. Pausing for a few minutes of presence can quiet your mind and support optimal mental health. Many events are out of our control. Regular meditation calms mind and body and is especially helpful in times of uncertainty. Meditation practice can also boost immunity. Studies show that people who practice meditation are less likely to get sick and if they become sick, tend to be sicker for shorter times. Be kind to yourself during the pandemic.

In addition to practicing meditation, follow good hygiene tips during this time:
1. Wash hands frequently
2. Avoid face touching
3. Practice physical distancing whenever possible
4. Avoid crowds and extended stays in confined spaces with numerous people
5. Open windows and enjoy fresh air
