Go beyond the doors of the operating room to learn about plastic surgery and non-surgical medical aesthetics with Houston board certified plastic surgeon Dr. Bob Basu. Over the course of his plastic surgery career, Dr. Basu has performed over 16,000 cosmetic procedures.
He advocates for his patients as a national leader in cosmetic surgery and patient safety. He is also an internationally-recognized speaker with over 80 presentations and publications under his belt. Most recently, he published Cosmetic Breast Surgery, a seminal textbook on contemporary aesthetic breast surgical techniques.
Originally from the Northeast, Dr. Basu likes to say he “got to Texas as fast as he could.” He fell in love with the area while completing his plastic surgery fellowship at the prestigious Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in the Texas Medical Center.

Hannah’s Rhinoplasty: Why I Flew From LA to Houston For Surgery
Hyper-focused on the bump on her nose in the mirror every day and constantly worried about her “bad angles” in photos or videos, Hannah wanted rhinoplasty since middle school.

The 6 Big Worries People Have Before Revision Rhinoplasty
Because it can take 12-18 months for swelling to go down and final results to show after a rhinoplasty, it’s important to set aside your worries while healing.
Normal recovery aside, if you’ve had a rhinoplasty and your results don’t look the way you expected, Dr. DeBusk breaks down the common reasons for revision surgery, including irregular contours on the nasal bridge, Pollybeak deformity (downward facing tip), and functional problems.
One of the only reasons a revision rhinoplasty would be done less than 12 months after the initial procedure is saddle nose deformity, in which the bridge sinks into a saddle shape.
