But a group of internet sleuths start to suspect that Meg isn’t ill at all. When they discover Megan is in a Disney resort rather than a US hospital, they decide to hire a private detective to prove Megan is faking her illness–and expose the truth to the world. But events take an unexpected turn. And the internet sleuths-who are all parents of seriously ill children themselves-begin to wonder if they've got it all wrong. At 25, Hannah’s life begins falling apart. An anonymous intruder has made her phone her enemy. Aided by the technology we all rely on, this intruder is watching Hannah, threatening her, even pretending to be her. Feeling increasingly unsafe, Hannah goes to the police, but they can’t stop it. Well done, as usual for this host and journalist. Very thorough and compassionate. It’s a shame that there appears to be no accountability for Jean who sickened that child and injured and sickened her older children before her. While abusing Megan she also committed fraud at a significant scale. And no authorities are looking for her? Smh

Super interesting story told really well. I binge listened to the whole thing and would totally recommend it. My only little note is that they lose me in the One Direction episode a little bit. As someone who loved the band and still listens to them, it wouldn’t have been that hard to get all their names right and not say things like “…and the other one.” Be a little more professional 😕 Loved the podcast otherwise though!
