    Setting Boundaries

    Setting Boundaries

If you're like us, this 5-6 month Spring Break has been a new level of crazy. For many of us, we've only just started to find a state of flow with our new routines after begrudgingly letting our former sense of normal go. And now, things are shifting again as we look ahead to the fall. Kiddos are going back to school in some capacity, work situations are evolving, and as a result, our routines will encounter some degree of pressure. This is why it is so essential we know how to establish healthy boundaries—to maintain what matters most to us, to preserve the hidden gifts of quarantine like meaningful rest and time spent with others, and to press on towards realizing our goals. It's not always easy to set boundaries or say "no", but we hope this conversation helps you see the value that can come in doing so.

    Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT)

In this episode, Ryan sits down with Dr. Matthew Barker, founder of the Integrative Pain and Wellness Center (IPAWC), for a conversation on osteopathic manipulative treatment. OMT is a modality of bodywork, or the hands-on treatment of musculoskeletal issues. Beyond this style of treatment, Dr. Barker's approach is one aimed at helping patients get to the root cause of their ailments, so they can live optimally and with greater wellness. His practice includes a satellite office located inside HIIT4FIT Midland, where he sees patients about once a month. If you have questions or wish to learn more about Dr. Barker and the IPAWC, visit their website at www.ipawc.com.

Supporting Relief Efforts in Lebanon — Community Action

Supporting Relief Efforts in Lebanon — Community Action

Community is one of our primary intentions at HIIT4FIT. This week, a member of our community, Dr. Vicky Webb's home country of Lebanon endured a horrific explosion in its capital city of Beirut. Since the explosion, more details have surfaced on the extent of the damage—including loss of life, infrastructural damage, and injuries. As a result, there is an opportunity to rally around the Lebanese people and offer our support to amplify and promote relief efforts already underway. To do this, HIIT4FIT will be collecting monetary donations this weekend and throughout next week to contribute to some of these relief efforts in Lebanon as directed by Dr. Webb and her contacts on the ground there. Our aim is to channel our intention to support our community into action as we support Dr. Webb's in Lebanon.

    Mobility Things

    Mobility Things

"Did you do your mobility?"  ¨̮
This is a question we've all been asked at some point at the gym. To which, we probably replied with some excuse as to why we did not do it (if we're being honest!). And, we get it. For most of us, just getting into the gym or getting our movement in can be difficult. In this episode, we chat with Coach Jon, our resident mobility expert, on the importance of mobility, ways to get started with a mobility practice of your own, and a few great resources to consult.
