I cannot recommend Bonfire Babble highly enough. As a newcomer to witchcraft and paganism, this podcast has been both an incredible resource and a joy to listen to. Every time a new episode drops, it’s one of the highlights of my week.
When you set out to increase your knowledge on any given topic, it’s so easy to feel overwhelmed when you delve into what seems like endless sources, conflicting information, gate keepers, and everyone who seems to have a singular right way to approach every single little thing. It’s easy to feel like you’ll never know enough or find a way to belong.
But listening to Corey and Detta, all of those anxieties are quickly laid to rest. They have created a space that feels comfortable and accepting, informative and thought-provoking, with due-respect given to any serious topics while still being interspersed with laughter and genuine love for the subjects in question.
And while they could simply share their wealth of personal knowledge with listeners, they both make sure to go the extra mile and not only answer any questions they’re sent, but also do a ton of research AND provide their sources for information in every single episode. Coming from a research background, finding a good information source with sited source materials is such a GIFT, it defies value.
This podcast and its lovely creators provide an incredible range of information from different cultures and histories across the world. They’re never afraid to say “I don’t know”, and they always do what they can to learn and share when they do. If you’re new to witchcraft or a seasoned witch, there’s always something for you by the bonfire with Corey and Detta. Thank you both for all the heart and hard work you pour into every single episode.
