CGH Radio 055: Monica Davis on her Son’s Journey with PANDAS Catch Good Health Radio

    • Health & Fitness

On this episode** of Catch Good Health® Radio, Health Educator & Wellness Coach, Erica Haray, talks with Monica Davis about her son’s journey with PANDAS- Pediatric Autoimmune Neuropsychiatric Disorders Associated with Streptococcal Infections.

One evening eight years ago, Monica’s vibrant, healthy, and happy 3 1/2 year old son went to sleep, and after screaming and urinating throughout the night, he woke up with a changed personality and a series of health issues.  At four he was diagnosed with OCD and ADHD; at five he was diagnosed with anxiety; at six he was diagnosed with Tourette’s symptoms.  His motor and speech skills declined.

After being prescribed multiple medications, Monica’s son continued to suffer.  She began investigating his health issues further, and learned about PANDAS- an illness that explained what happened to her son, and how to best help him.  Unfortunately, however, it was difficult to find medical professionals who understood PANDAS, and who could help him.

Monica is a licensed Behavior Specialist Consultant and Special Education Teacher, and created two websites to help folks going through similar experiences.  Fixing Alphabet Soup is a resource for other parents who want to learn about PANDAS and her son’s journey to better health.  Monica also created The Hidden Veggies for people wanting to get healthier, particularly those with autoimmune issues, and it offers plant-based recipes for better health.  Thanks Monica! 🙂

And don’t forget- good health is contagious…pass it on™!

** Just a reminder- Monica and Erica are not medical doctors.  They share their own experiences in the podcast.  If you or a loved one isn’t feeling well, please find a qualified, licensed medical professional to get the help that you or your loved one needs.
