Dr. Darvin is an Assistant Professor in Sport Management at the State University of New York College at Cortland, and a gender equity researcher. She earned a PhD in Sport Management from the University of Florida, an M.S. from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in Sport Management, and a B.A. from Bryn Mawr College in Political Science. Dr. Darvin was a two-sport NCAA student-athlete in basketball and lacrosse during her time as an undergraduate.







Together, they discuss the benefits of sports for women and girls; equity in opportunities, funding, and promotion; aggressiveness and socialization; lifelong sports; athletes and off season workouts; recruiting more women as coaches and officials; and investing more in women’s sports and promotion.
