Can't Get Enough ACW

If you can't read, watch or hear enough about the Civil War, then this podcast will help. Well done interviews with authors, historians, etc. Just skip past the beginning part where the host talks about...well, nothing really.

Rambles a bit

Spends the first 15 minutes rambling about his own interests. Sometimes goes on a tangent away from the book. Gerry is a little pretentious at times. So you went to Hahvahd!

Now he is claiming a book that lists temperatures from the 1860’s gives solid proof of global warming and a sick child should make us question religion.

Won’t be wasting any more time with this clown.

Gary Gallagher on one week and still he won’t stop talking about himself!

Pick it up around minute 10

Omgosh. The incessant droning on at the beginning about ECU sports or weather and who his alma mater (not ECU) beat in baseball is painful. Skip it and get to the guests which he occasionally lets talk. That’s the interesting part. He rebuts by saying ‘get your own podcast’. No but I have found several better ones where the host is gracious and let’s the subject talk for 10 minutes at a time without some banal academic banter that’s only purpose is to remind us that the host considers himself ‘academia’. A shame, his knowledge is vast but the way he presents it is self absorbed.
