It is estimated by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) that by 2030 approximately 50% of American adults will be diagnosed with prediabetes or Type 2 diabetes. These are alarming numbers, and independent of the type of healthcare delivery system we provide, no population can sustain this rate of adult-onset disease. Nevertheless, we are genuinely a few steps from prevention.
