YES this is the much hinted at and inquired about episode from the archives that was never aired, for reasons that - with the passage of time - seem trivial, but at the time itself were very sensitive indeed. What's cool about hearing this episode after the previous newer recording with Rosie is how the ground was looking back then in an acting as well as very personal sense. It's what's cool about hearing two podcasts consecutively which have a space of about 4 or 5 years between them, in fact. So many questions answered, so many still left hanging, and so much life on display - it gets pretty existential when you think about it - so without any further rumination, let's leave the investigation to you! As always, a glorious chat with Rosie, and such a lot to dig into, and make sure you look at the dog charities and causes out there too if you're in the market for a dog friend. A ton of options. You might know Rosie from her role as Jac on 600 episodes of Holby City - but it's entirely possible that you know her from the vast IMDB list and have never seen an episode of Holby City in your life... OR maybe this is the first time you've seen the name. Well, it goes without saying that Rosie is a genuine treat to have on the podcast. There is a bonus coming on Friday too, which is like a rare studio cutting room floor discovery type episode, where she and Pip recorded back around 2019 but it was never put out. Another perfect meeting here for Pip and all film heads who listen to this (and as always, anyone into creative process and inspiration), as William talks about all of the intricacies and moments of lightning in a bottle that come together to result in amazing cinema - including his past movie Lady Macbeth and present movie Eileen. It is though, of course, usually not by accident as so much hard work goes into allowing these moments to happen, and working with fine cast members always goes a huge distance. This is a great little masterclass in what can be possible, how things merge and collaborate, and how memorable films are prepared, made, and their legacy. And how the cold makes everything better. A controversial but indisputable view...!

...and by no means a debut appearance from Josh, as you might remember an appearance a LONG while back in October 2018! At time of this episode that's 5 years. How much can happen in 5 years? Well there's a fine Bowie jam about that but in this case, it involves a career arc of launching into standup. No easy thing to do, as literally anyone will tell you in comedy, but Josh has taken to it with grace and finesse, made an awesome Fringe show, and rocked a bunch of venues up and down the country. Here we catch up with Emerald in promotionland to hear about her new film Saltburn, which we'll see in cinemas around mid-November. But as you will know from this podcast, it's not as basic as simple promotion - Pip gets into a lot of the mechanics of Emerald's world, including process, world building, reference, inspiration, small and big screen, casting, personal idea hierarchies, and so much more.
