Drama Radio: "you really think Creole should be used in the classroom...?"
Creative Interpretation assignment: EDLA3111 : Principles, Approaches and Methods in Teaching Standard English in the Caribbean
Drama Radio: "you really think Creole should be used in the classroom...?"
This creative interpretation takes the form of a short audio skit. Three parents with differing views are in conversation after a parent teacher association meeting (PTA) concerning the use of Creole in the classroom. This skit was formulated after consulting two articles as this was an overlapping issue that emerged. Notably, the group not only added their personal take on this issue considering the nature of the Trinidadian classroom, but by crafting each parents’ character to represent extremes views ranging from extreme laisse, traditionalism and radicalism this allowed a wider coverage of numerous arguments commonly form against and for language education within the Caribbean.
