How to Identify and Attract the Right Business with Ben Amos

How to Identify and Attract the Right Business with Ben Amos

No matter what stage you are at right now, getting super clear on what your business is and who you want to serve is a critical foundation for business planning and ultimately success.
And, as a Video Strategist, our role for our clients is often to help them gain this clarity too.
And it all starts with a hedgehog.
Recently in my Accredited Video Strategist Program, we’ve been working a lot on gaining clarity on audiences and particularly positioning our Video Strategy businesses in the right way for the right types of clients, and it’s really interesting to me how we all have different views on the type of business we’re aiming to build and who we are wanting to work with. But let me tell you, the clarity, and growth from that clarity that is coming out through the program over the last few weeks has been seriously awesome to see.
So in this episode, I’m going to share with you an approach you can take to getting super clear what your business is all about, and in particular what type of clients and projects you will want to attract to work with you.
In celebration of 250 episodes of the podcast, take a screenshot of your review, and email it to support@engagevideomarketing.com and we’ll hook you up with a surprise bonus :)

Working with Tiktok Influencers with Jordana Grace

Working with Tiktok Influencers with Jordana Grace

Have you ever wondered what it takes to build an audience, and then a business using TikTok?
The fact is that the idea of what a social media influencer is today, is quite different to the early days of influencers and the path to building a business based off you, your content and your personality is available to everyone.
But there is some secret sauce and that’s what we’re going to learn more about in today’s episode.
Known as ‘That British Girl’, Jordana Grace is a Comedy Content Strategist. She’s a writer, speaker, comedian and amateur croissant connoisseur. She continually pursues her love of making people laugh, spending her days highly caffeinated creating comedic masterpieces for various brands and charities through her own company. She is also incredibly humble.
On TikTok, her series ‘Things they should tell you before coming to Australia’ has become an international hit with tourists and Aussies alike. And even created a course on ‘How to move to Australia’, to help people around the world move to paradise. The Australian public has embraced her dry British humour with open arms, even though she keeps questioning their ways.
As that British girl in Australia, she’s living her best life. Whether that’s looking for a husband without a mullet (dramatically decreasing the list of potential Aussie suitors) or searching for that perfect croissant – it’s safe to say she’s made a home down under.

Inside TikTok Advertising with Dennis Yu

Inside TikTok Advertising with Dennis Yu

In 2021, TikTok overtook google.com as the most trafficked site on the internet. And unless you’ve been firmly stuck with your head in the sand over the last 12 months particularly, I’m sure you recognise that TikTok simply can’t be ignored in a video strategy today.
But is it really still the wild wild west of social media platforms? How can “real” businesses use TikTok to drive genuine business results. How is TikTok paid advertising something that we should be paying attention to?
I know you’ve got questions about TikTok,I know I do! So in this episode, I’ve invited an expert TikTok marketer to share more. He even co-wrote the book about it.
    In this episode we cover:
A short intro to Dennis and what he does.
When TikTok first came on his radar.
His early impressions of the platform.
Where he feels TikTok is at right now as a business/marketing tool.
You co-authored a book “Tiktok Advertising: How to Access 1 billion people in 10 minutes” - bold claim… is it really 10minutes?
TikTok organic or TikTok advertising - where should businesses start?
How is the mindset or approach for businesses different on TikTok vs legacy social platform?
    Algorithms?
    Trends?
    Ad types and strategy?

Communicating a Brand's Story with Shannon W Williams

Communicating a Brand's Story with Shannon W Williams

You know how powerful story is in marketing. You’ve heard it before I’m sure, that storytelling allows for deeper levels of communication and connection than any other form of marketing.
But for many brands and businesses I believe there is still a real struggle in working out how to find, and communicate their brand's story in a way that actually connects with their ideal audience and leads to tangible business results.
So in today’s episode I’ve invited brand storyteller, and creative agency owner Shannon W Williams to the show to talk about just that.
Shannon W. Williams is the Principal and Lead Creative at 10 SPEED Studios - a boutique creative and brand development firm based in Columbus, OH, USA - serving the solopreneur and small business.
Shannon is also a Storybrand Certified Guide and importantly a true practitioner of story and branding as it applies to business.
    In this episode we cover:
A short intro to Shannon and what he does.
What’s wrong with how most businesses position their brand.
The difference between forgettable brands and outstanding brands
How can brands use story over and above simply telling their story.
Where do many businesses struggle when it comes to applying narrative frameworks into their messaging and marketing?
How does this relate to content?
What can agency’s learn from this to better serve their clients through the content we produce?
A case study of a brand refreshed with a better, clearer story.

So Good!

I was honored to be Ben’s guest and share a few thoughts about Web 3.0 and the Metaverse. The experience was amazing and the final podcast episode quality and production exceptional. I’m so impressed with Ben’s show that I am now a subscriber to the podcast and am working my way through each episode during my daily runs and paddles around the island. Thank you Ben. Well done! -Mitch Jackson (2013 California Litigation Lawyer of the Year)

Such great insights!

Ben has such a fantastic way of articulating concepts and motivating listeners. I learn something new with every episode. Definitely worth a listen.

This is Gold!

This is like going to video marketing school for free! Seriously, I’m so thankful for this resource. As I was listening to episode 189, and I heard Guy and Ben share frustrations of seeing businesses kill a good video campaign with bad placement or forced creative. I’ve been screaming about this too. Sooo, frustrating!!
I’ve made hundreds of TV ads and corporate videos, played with creating online content and I’m now ready to ramp my new business up (Digital Film Farm), so I’m bingeing these episodes and visiting the websites of Ben’s guests. I’m actually devoting a week to selective listening and taking notes. I’m about to launch my new website and will be adding a lot of content. I’m taking on fewer clients while adding strategy and Facebook Ad management services. Thanks Ben. Hope to be a success story guest someday. Keep up the good work!
