Ep #137: Experiment Your Way to Less Stress & Overwhelm

Do you want less stress & overwhelm? Me too! In this episode, I share a strategy for lowering stress and overwhelm -- not meditation, baths, or exercise, but maybe all of them or something else entirely. Rather than providing a single "right" answer, we're going to experiment together to see what helps. Just the thought "I'm working on this" lowered my stress level and the feelings of dread I was having about returning work after vacation. By running small, personal experiments like adjusting my routine, sketching, and practicing self-compassion, I aim to discover what works best for me to reduce stress and I hope you'll join me with experiments of your own. Take a listen and let me know what you're experimenting with! ************************************ Mentioned in this episode: Martha Beck, Beyond Anxiety: Curiosity, Creativity, and Finding Your Life's Purpose Connect with me * Sign up for a free one-hour midlife magic consultation call to discover what you most want for the second half of your life and how coaching can help * Sign up to receive my mindset shifts, right in your inbox * Check out my website * Email me at rachel@coachingwithrachel.com

Ep #135: Rewriting Your Life Story

In this New Year's episode, I talk about using storytelling to shape our lives, focusing on how imagining our future—even writing our own “obituary”—can help us see a bigger picture. Rewriting our life story, especially during challenging times, reminds us that our story isn’t finished yet, and allows us to look at life and ourselves with compassion. In this episode: ➡️ Understand how storytelling can shift your perspective on difficult times and help you see your life in a more empowering light. ➡️ Learn practical ways to imagine telling the story of your life as an older version of yourself ➡️ Discover the power of reframing “failures” and difficult times to change the power they have in your life's story ➡️ Gain tools for writing multiple versions of your story, looking for your core values as through lines. ***************************************** Mentioned in this episode: List of core values (James Clear) Connect with me * Sign up for a free one-hour midlife magic consultation call to discover what you most want for the second half of your life and how coaching can help * Sign up to receive my mindset shifts, right in your inbox * Check out my website * Email me at rachel@coachingwithrachel.com

Ep #134: Hold Hope for Yourself and Create the Future You Want

Inspired by the holidays and just in time for the new year, this episode is about hope. I explore the power of holding hope for ourselves, even when our current reality feels far from where we want to be. Hope isn’t about imagining a perfect future, but about recognizing that what we see now is not the only possible reality. By developing a relationship with our future self, we can gain clarity, guidance, and curiosity about how to move forward, even when we don’t have all the answers. I encourage you to be curious about your future self, learn from them, and take small steps toward the future you desire. This episode shows how to: ➡️ Hold Hope for Yourself: Hope is about believing that your current reality is not the only possibility—both in personal and collective contexts. ➡️ Get Curious About Your Future Self: Instead of self-judgment, approach your future self with curiosity and ask questions to uncover how they figured things out. ➡️ Set Realistic Goals: Develop a healthy relationship with your future self, focusing on small, actionable steps rather than a perfect vision. ➡️ Move Beyond Stagnation: Use hope and curiosity to fuel your next steps, even when things don’t go according to plan or past strategies have failed. ***************************************** Connect with me * Sign up for a free one-hour midlife magic consultation call to discover what you most want for the second half of your life and how coaching can help * Sign up to receive my mindset shifts, right in your inbox * Check out my website * Email me at rachel@coachingwithrachel.com
