EP 26: Not Meeting your Weight Loss Goals with T1D? This Ones for You‪.‬ Keeping It 100 Radio: Uncensored Diabetes Conversations

    • Health & Fitness

Weight loss isn't a bad goal to have while living with diabetes. Unsustainable weight loss is.

There is a massive difference between weight loss lead by restriction, and weight loss lead by fueling your body and enjoying the process.

Inside today's episode, I sit down with my co-coach and friend, Jessica Hrdlicka. Jessica is a Registered Dietitian and Certified Diabetes Educator who helps people living with diabetes lose weight and manage blood sugars all while eating the foods that they love.

SHOW NOTES

⏰ (1:04): Guest Intro
⏰ (3:31): What do you do for our clients inside of KI100 and for your own clients inside of your business?

⏰ (8:50): What is the first thing that you uncover with the clients who come in with those preconceived notions?
⏰ (13:14): Let's talk about the science behind weight loss and insulin resistance, why isn't cutting carbs or cutting calories the immediate solution there?
⏰ (17:02): What are some tips or advice you would give to someone working on that initial mindset portion of the relationship with food and relationship with the numbers?
⏰ (19:22): When it comes to weight loss perspective, how do you take that 'adding in' approach?
⏰ (22:05): Why having less calories doesn't always equate to weight loss
⏰ (23:55): We need a set amount of calories a day, we need to fuel our bodies
⏰ (25:26): If someone came to you in a plateau, what would be the first few questions that you would ask them to consider?
⏰ (30:32): How would you say that your approach to blood sugar management, insulin resistance, weight loss, etc. meets that sustainability piece?
⏰ (32:33): When would you say ‘you’ve done a lot, it’s time to kind of set that goal aside and focus on other things’?
⏰ (35:37): What would you say is the importance of having a mentor or a coach next to them, guiding them along the way?
⏰ (37:18): Do you do private coaching, group coaching? What can people know about how you support your clients?
⏰ (37:52): Where can people find you?
