Making Herstory: Amanda Novoa
Welcome to another Making Herstory! Today, Shelby sits down with Live Event Show Caller, Amanda Novoa. What's a show caller, you ask? That's the person with the headset who keeps your live shows, like the Oscars and Grammys, on schedule. It's a fascinating career, and Amanda talks about how she broke into the business, its pros and cons, and what it's like being a woman in a male-dominated field. Bonus: She has a soothing voice, so if you're having trouble sleeping, you can recycle the episode for bedtime.

Absolutely favorite podcast!
I‘ve been listening to this podcast since I was a senior in High School (Fall 2019/Spring 2020) and I am still listening weekly this year as I am graduating my bachelors in Spring 2022. This podcast is beautiful and makes me so happy to listen to all the amazing women I might have never heard about. I’m born and raised German and had never heard of the Witch in the Witches episode. 100% recommend💕
(Btw some of the old episodes including witches and old Wild West are no longer showing up… will they be up again soon?😢)
Yes please!
Love y’all!
Wait, I Get To LOL, While I Learn?!
It's rare to laugh out loud—consistently—while learning. Those educators, who are so talented, they're teaching you things you never realized you NEEDED to know, until you learned them.
What a treat, that comedians / HERstorians, Amy Claire and Shelby Stockton entertain and enlighten audiences, while introducing us to powerful, intelligent, iconic, innovative, (and sometimes infamous) women throughout HERstory.
It is a BRILLIANT show.
