#8: Integrity
Is 'integrity' an over-used word?
Perhaps.
But what does it *really* mean? And how can be applied to empower us instead of demean our sense of who we are?
For the Season One finale, I cover three definitions of integrity and invite you to try applying the ideas to your life.
I refer to: Stephen Covey's book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People* and an interview with Economist Michael Jensen "Integrity: Without it Nothing Works"

#7: Meditation
Meditation is something that makes a big difference - but what is it really? Stereotypes about sitting cross-legged and chanting are common. It's actually something simple that can support our mental health. In this episode I discuss what it is, and recommend three apps that can develop a meditation habit that are: Waking Up, Headspace, and Calm.

#6: Gratitude
Expressing gratitude is another very popular idea in self-development. In this episode, I outline what gratitude is, the reason behind it why it works, and some ways to practise it.
I also mention 59 Seconds by Richard Wiseman - a professor of psychology lays out a bunch of self-development ideas that are scientifically proven to actually work! He includes gratitude.

#4: Responsibility
Maybe responsibility isn't something that we 'have to' 'should do' or 'must do'. Perhaps we have a choice about how we respond. In this episode I outline ideas that inspired me from two books. First - the book that started my whole self-development journey over twenty years ago - 'The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People' by Stephen Covey, and second - a more recent read - 'Man's Search For Meaning' by Viktor Frankl. If you're enjoying this podcast - consider reading both.

#3: Compassion
An exploration of the meaning of compassion - and self-compassion. And ways to start practising it. Two resources I mention. A book "The Charisma Myth" by Olivia Fox Cabane, and an article from The Guardian "Silence your inner critic: a guide to self-compassion in the toughest times".
