Dr. Zawada worked as Research Scientist at Saarland University Medical Center, Germany. Today he is Research & Development Scientist Product Development at Fresenius Medical Care. -
Prof. Dr. Bernard Canaud: How dialyzer innovations support attaining treatment goals
Meet Prof. Dr. Bernard Canaud at Life/ on air! In this episode, Prof. Dr. Canaud talks about how to improve clinical outcomes for patients undergoing dialysis. He will point out the changes that dialysis administration has gone through in recent years and the importance of complement activation and inflammation in the short term and long term for patient outcomes.
He is currently an Emeritus Professor of Nephrology at Montpellier University School of Medicine, France, and is Senior Chief Scientist at Fresenius Medical Care. He was former president of the Association pour Installation à Domicile des Epurations Rénales (AIDER). -

He is President of the International Society for Hemodialysis and member of the ERA-EDTA Renal Nutrition board, and former vice-chair European Dialysis board. He is a Professor of Dialysis & ICU Nephrology, and director of the Dialysis & Renal Physiology center at University College London.
In this episode, he talks about available options for improving dialysis treatments and outcomes and what biological factors can impact clinical choice. In the end, he will share his thoughts about how to improve current dialyzers.
