Food Safety Talk 301: Flockhart Foyer

Food Safety Talk 300: The Pat Venditte Rule

Food Safety Talk 300: The Pat Venditte Rule

Don and Ben start the show talking about some recent guest pitches they've received (and a what sounds like a fun fusion restaurant). They go on to talk about watching Astrid and Curb Your Enthusiasm and get into the food safety content by Ben plating a message he received from his grocery store. This leads to some recall communication talk. Ben masterfully gets Don to do some homework for him (and disguises it as a fun game, which it was not). The guys go on to talk about vibrio infections, the impacts of outbreaks on Chipotle and whether a toilet lid matters when it comes to the aerosolization of poop particles when flushing a toilet. They talk about agricultural education in classrooms and get into some followup on dry cleaning, .orgs and fried rice syndrome.

Food Safety Talk 299: Sweatin' To The N00bs

Don and Ben start the conversation with the inevitable audio issues (it's not a bit) and after a diversion to the origin of Bluetooth, the issue gets traced to Don's wiring. Ben starts the non-food safety portion talking about The Curse (and how it made him feel dumb) and then things move into food safety through Nathan For You. Ben tells Don about his new obsession with the English Premier League, and coincidentally a job doing food safety things for one of their clubs. The guys talk about things that they would or could do if they weren't in food safety. The guys go on to talk about frozen corn and Salmonella, recall creep, can and lead follow-up.

“Girl talk” between men.

And it’s great. Endearing and encouraging to hear the conversations between two food scientists and friends who genuinely do this out of the goodness of their hearts and the joy they get from chatting together (preferably online).

HeyFromBilly ,

Surprisingly not boring!

The science is good, the stories are great, and it - thankfully - teaches you how to talk about food safety with your non-food safety friends in a way that will help make sure you are still invited to parties (when we can have parties again.)

“Girl talk” between men.

What a waste of time regarding an important topic by experts.
They need to take lessons from Oprah.
