Today's teenage girls face unprecedented challenges - and so do their parents. From anxiety, loneliness, and depression to struggles with friendships, body image, and self-worth, girls feel the overwhelm of a perfect storm that often leads them to despondency. For moms raising daughters, big questions have emerged: How can we help them thrive? How can we offer hope, wisdom, calm, and strength? In the Girl Mom podcast, blogger Kari Kampakis, a mom of 4 girls and author of 3 books (including the latest for moms, LOVE HER WELL) unites women who aim to be strong mothers raising empowered daughters. Addressing modern-day issues through the lens of faith, Kari helps mothers feel less alone, more encouraged, and more equipped to unleash the potential of their mother-daughter relationships.

Ep. 45: Fighting the Epidemic of Burned-Out Moms
Burnout among moms is at an all-time high. We know we need self-care, but we think of it in two opposite extremes: either the Spa Day Mentality (a constant mindset of “I’ll treat myself because I deserve it”) or the Mommy Martyrdom Mentality (a mindset of “my kids are my world, and I can’t do anything for myself”). Join Kari as she discusses a healthy middle ground that strengthens you, expands your bandwidth, and builds wellness from the inside out.

Ep. 40: Moms, Rewrite the Negative Scripts in Your Head
Counselors often talk about the “tapes” in a person’s head that play on repeat. Over time, these tapes (often untrue) form negative thought loops and unhealthy mindsets that affect us and the people we love. Ep. 39: Moms, Make Time for Your Friends
For girls and women, friends are like oxygen. They make life better, they "get us" like no one else, they induce side-splitting laughter, and they make impossible days feel bearable. If you've found your people, give thanks, and if you haven't, have hope. The best lessons in friendship often come during the loneliest seasons of friendship, and as Kari explains, those lonely seasons can help you "up" your friendship game and become the friend you hope to find.

Wonderful resource!
I heard Kari speak on another podcast and quickly download her book for moms. I listened to it fast and wished it would go on longer. It included so many good nuggets of wisdom. I was thrilled to find out Kari has a podcast! She’s relatable and down to earth so it’s like listening to a girlfriend, but she also includes lots of helpful research.
