This is a very funny and enjoyable pod. They are sooo wrong, they’re right!!!

Every episode is a treat and I have listened to many of them several times over. I love the way Annie Rose Malamet and her guests (who are always amazing) talk about film and I find the conversations very nuanced in a way that really expands how I view movies. I also just love trashy erotic thriller and horror films so I love to hear Annie’s takes on the movies I know and love. This podcast makes all the other movie podcasts seem so whatever and tedious to listen to, but maybe that is because cinephile podcasts are pretty cringe and laden with entitled nerds anyway, and Annie is the only person really doing it right.

Annie Rose Malamet’s work is unparalleled. You don’t want to miss a single episode. My favorite episodes include the recent deep-dive into the history of werewolves and an analysis of the powerful film Ms 45.

Girls, Guts, & Giallo is a podcast that is grounded in rigorous research and concrete formal analysis of the films discussed, while simultaneously drawing on the rich and underrepresented subjectivity of approaching horror from a queer leatherwoman perspective. Annie’s film criticism is incredibly incisive, contextual, and wildly entertaining; she really is the queen of subversive cinema commentary.
