Feeling incomplete after a failed relationship(s)? Think you need a man to be fulfilled in life? Wondering why you stayed in that toxic relationship? Tired of the constant confusion about who you are? Weighed down by negative thoughts? Wish you knew what you were created to do? And do you wonder where the heck God is in the midst of all this?

In this podcast you will find out how I came to be complete in God. I will share how I finally moved forward in my life by healing from past heartbreaks and ditching the negative mindset, identity confusion and that nagging feeling of purposelessness. I also pull from my background in psychology to help you examine your own patterns of behavior and think about why you do what you do. My mission is to help you walk into the fullness of who you are by providing biblical principles along with practical tips to heal your heart, grow spiritually, find your true identity, break toxic behavior patterns while establishing healthy ones, and discover your purpose.

If you’re ready to leave behind toxic cycles that lead to a broken heart and emptiness and grab a hold of wholeness and purpose. You’re in the right place.

Hey sis! I’m Kandice–a faith-led wife and mother walking in purpose, who also has a background in psychology; but this wasn’t always the case. I remember being single, thriving in my career as a school psychologist, and faking a smile everyday. People thought I had it all together on the outside, but inside I was heartbroken and unfulfilled with my life. Plus, I wasn’t sure about who I was. You see, I wanted to be married more than anything, and knowing my identity wasn’t important to me; so I dated a lot, looking for men to validate me and tell me who I was. I went from relationship to relationship; but instead of finding my soulmate with whom I would spend the rest of my life, I found disappointment and more heartbreak. Each time I walked away from a failed relationship, I left a little piece of my heart behind. Not to mention, I never took time to really heal and examine my own behaviors. Then, in 2015, the last failed relationship shattered my heart in a way that I couldn’t put it back together on my own, and I knew no man would be able to put it back together either. Something in my life had to change. I finally realized that if my heart was ever going to be truly healed, and if I was ever going to be truly fulfilled in my life, I was going to have to partner with God in the healing process. God showed me how to use biblical principles to move on from heartbreak, become a faith-led woman, discover my true identity, and find purpose. I made small changes in my behavior that I could maintain and stay consistent with while still having fun and enjoying my life in the process. Those small changes led to grand results; I am ready to share all my experiences, wisdom, and “small changes” with you!

If you are ready to finally shut that revolving door of heartbreak after heartbreak, stop the constant confusion about who you are and why you’re here, and you’re looking for results like strong faith, positive thinking, peace in your mind, healthy behavior patterns, and contentment in your life–this podcast is for you!

Sis, kick off those shoes that’s been hurting your feet all day, and pour yourself a cup of your favorite hot beverage! You deserve this moment for yourself sis! Let’s dig in!

    058. I Have A Broken Heart And Nothing To Be Thankful For: 5 Scriptures of Encouragement For This Thanksgiving

    058. I Have A Broken Heart And Nothing To Be Thankful For: 5 Scriptures of Encouragement For This Thanksgiving

    Hey Sis!

If you’re listening to this episode the day it was released, then, Thanksgiving is in a couple of days. If you’re listening after Thanksgiving, this episode is still beneficial if you’re dealing with heartbreak.

Thanksgiving is a season where people tend to focus more on gratitude than any other time of the year. However, you may not feel like you have a whole lot to be grateful for after that breakup. I get it! I’ve definitely been there! It took a lot to get me in the mood of being grateful during my initial stages of heartbreak, but I found my way.

When heartbroken and sad, you may feel like there’s nothing to be thankful for, but in reality, there’s a lot to be thankful for.

Today, I have some scriptures that I hope will stir up some gratefulness in your heart and lead you into prayers of thanksgiving!

Get a paper and pen or whatever you use to take notes. While these scriptures are especially helpful this time of year, you can use them throughout your entire healing journey and beyond! Let’s get into it!

Remember, the gratitude journal challenge is going on now. Join me every Wednesday in the month of November as I share with you the things I’m grateful for, and I’ll guide you through the exercise  so you can participate as well.

Also, don’t forget about the Black Friday sale coming up this week. For one day only, you can get 30% off my products on my website, and even coaching services just for being a podcast listener. Just use the promo code:  PODBLACK30

    057. Minisode: Joy Will Return to You

    057. Minisode: Joy Will Return to You

In the month of November, I will be reading a devotion from the book on the podcast every Monday. In September I read from section 1 of the book, which was about dealing with the hurt. In October, I read from section 2, which was about growing closer to God. This month, I will be reading from section 3, which is about finding yourself.

This month, I’ll be reading devotions about getting back the things the enemy stole from you like your peace, joy, strength, and identity.

Today’s excerpt is about getting your joy back. The scripture reference is Psalms 30:10-11 (NLT).

Is sadness just the way it is now? Absolutely not Sis! God will turn your mourning into dancing and your sorrow into joy. When you’re feeling alone and sad, cry out to God. Let Him come into that moment with you. It won’t be long until the pain completely stops. When you let God mend your broken heart, the pain will go away. Let Him in Sis!

    055. A Toxic Relationship, Gaslighting, Foolish Behavior, Plus a Mother’s Love and God’s Grace, Pt. 2 with Rachel Stephens

    055. A Toxic Relationship, Gaslighting, Foolish Behavior, Plus a Mother’s Love and God’s Grace, Pt. 2 with Rachel Stephens

    Hey Sis!

Today, I’m continuing the conversation with my Sis Rachel that we started last week. Today’s episode may be a little triggering for some of you if you were involved in this type of relationship, so read the show notes and decide if this episode is right for you.

Walking away from a toxic relationship doesn’t mean everything is going to be great from that point. There is healing work to do. We have to realize that God is the only one who can truly fill our voids, so we can’t look for another man to do that

In part 2 of this conversation, Rachel tells us all about her healing journey and how she partnered with God. She talks to us about the revelations from God. However, her healing journey wasn’t a smooth ride. She learned she really had to trust God in her singleness and surrender her desires for His.

Her story is so encouraging because it’s a reminder that whatever and whoever God has for you is for you. There’s no need to rush. The most important thing is to heal and get it right.

A little about our guest: Rachel L. Stephens, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker and currently serves as a grief counselor for children and adults. Mrs. Stephens earned a Baccalaureate in Social Work from Rust college in Holly Springs, MS, and a Master’s of Social Work from Union University in Jackson, TN. Rachel is active in community organizations that encompass all fields of social work specific to advocating for children and families. She received intensive play therapy training at the Johns Hopkins University’s School of Education In Baltimore, MD, and has obtained her certification as a Registered play therapist with the Association For Play Therapy. Rachel is happily married to her husband, Davis, and recently had her beautiful baby boy, John Elijah

Sis, part 2 is just as good as part 1. This conversation is so juicy and will be eye opening for many. It may make you realize some things about yourself, and may even make you grateful that you walked away from your previous relationship. Kick off those cute shoes and turn me up in those earbuds, Sis! This is a must listen episode that you won’t want to miss.

Remember, the gratitude journal challenge is going on now. Join me every Wednesday in the month of November as I share with you the things I’m grateful for, and I’ll guide you through the exercise so you can participate as well. If you didn’t get your journal yet, go to my website www.kandiceabateast.com and order your beautiful lined journal with the promo code “JOURNAL15” for 15% off the journal. How can you find peace after your heart has been broken and your world has been shattered? Now you’re feeling anxiety about your future. What’s going to happen next?
