Best Summer Song
Pop music is as quintessential to the summer as warm breezes, lazy afternoons, and margaritas by the pool. And for decades, musical artists have been inspired by the season to create memorable, catchy songs that have, in turn, become required listening every time the warmer months roll around. So for one of our 2024 Summer Specials, the Great Pop Culture Debate wants to feel the heat as we name the Best "Summer" Song. Songs discussed include “Cruel Summer” by Bananarama; “Summer in the City” by The Lovin’ Spoonful; “Cool for the Summer” by Demi Lovato; “Summer Breeze” by Seals & Crofts; “California Gurls” by Katy Perry & Snoop Dogg; “Summer of ‘69” by Bryan Adams; “The Boys of Summer” by Don Henley; “Sailing” by Christopher Cross; “Come Sail Away” by Styx; “Summer Lovin’” from Grease; “Under the Boardwalk” by The Drifters; “I Get Around” by The Beach Boys; and more!
Join host Eric Rezsnyak, GPCD panelists Derek Mekita and Kate Racculia, and special guest Ashleigh Stiles from Wizard Radio as they discuss 16 of the most popular songs associated with the summer.

Best Modern Tabletop Game
Board games have been popular for more than a century -- some date back to the ancient world. But in the late 20th Century up until now, the buzzword has been tabletop games -- broadly speaking, elaborate games of skill, strategy, and luck that have generated intense fandoms since the late 1990s. While we've already covered the classic board games popular in our youth, the Great Pop Culture Debate now wants to determine the Best Modern Tabletop Game. Games discussed: Settlers of Catan, Pandemic, Codenames, Forbidden Island, Betrayal at the House on the Hill, Azul, Kingdomino, Carcasonne, Splendor, Ticket to Ride, Wingspan, and more.
Join host Eric Rezsnyak, GPCD panelists Bob Erlenback and Trey Radu-Blackburn, and special guest tabletop aficionado Jared Tannenbaum as they discuss and debate 16 of the most popular contemporary board games.

Best NBC Must See TV Series
For most of the past 40 years, NBC has absolutely owned Thursday nights. The network was never more successful in that endeavor than during the heyday of its "Must-See TV" programming block in the 1990s and early 2000s. Legendary comedies provided the anchors for smaller, but still great, sitcoms to find their footing, and tentpole dramas closed out the night. While the best days of "Must-See TV" are likely behind us, the Great Pop Culture Debate podcast wants to look back and determine the best NBC "Must-See TV" Show of all time.
Join host Eric Rezsnyak and GPCD panelists Amy Pilott, Jim Czadzeck, and Kevin Dillon as they discuss and debate 16 series that aired as part of NBC's legendary Thursday-night programming block.

Love This Podcast
The podcast is on my rotation and I really love how much knowledge every pannelist brings to the pod. I especially loved the Best Girl Groups!
THE pop culture show
I first listened to this show about a month ago and it's been a go-to ever since. These debates are the best kind: where it's less about proving someone else wrong and more about just having fun and sharing stories. The panelists' anecdotes about their past experiences with songs, foods, shows, etc. etc. always bring something specific and thoughtful to the discussion. Even if you disagree about the final decision regarding the best Animal Crossing character, Madonna song, or whatever the topic may be, it's still great to hear where everyone is coming from. The host Eric in particular always does a very good job steering conversation and keeping the flow of discussion smooth and steady.
Awesome pod
What a great podcast. I really enjoy the debate format of the show. It’s a lot of fun and the topics are all over the spectrum.
