Merry Christmas to everyone, except Ireland

Brendan O’Neill is the chief political writer for Spiked and host of The Brendan O’Neill Show podcast. He writes for numerous publications, including the Daily Mail, the Spectator, the New York Post and The Australian. His latest book is After the Pogrom: 7 October, Israel and the Crisis of Civilisation (Spiked, 2024) which you should all buy immediately. Brendan attempts to explain to us what the HELL is wrong with Ireland, why he as a non-Jew had such a strong reaction to October 7 (he’s against it, just to be clear) and why the right wing variety of antisemitism is giving the left a run for it’s money. Good for the Jews is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support our work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber. Merry Christmas to all our non-Jewish listeners! You’re our favorites. We hope you enjoy the day in your matching pajamas eating chestnuts and riding reindeer or whatever it is you do. We respect your tradition, though we don’t quite understand it. I think it has something to do with a Palestinian refugee fleeing Israeli tanks 2,000+ years ago and giving birth to Jesus at a checkpoint. Here’s an AI generated image of Jews celebrating Christmas. 8/10. It’s also the time of year when we love to resurface one of our favorite episodes: “All I want for Christmas is Jews”. In this episode Rabbi David Komerofsky “Jewsplains” how the best Christmas songs were written by Jews, and tells a beautiful story of immigration, fantasy, and the American Dream. We also have playlist of the best songs written by Jews, so enjoy! Get full access to Good for the Jews at askajew.substack.com/subscribe
