Fun, Historical, & Brilliant

This is a pod that doesn’t take itself too seriously, but seriously does an outstanding job of bringing together the world of film & history. It’s not boring or always holding filmmakers to task for not being historically accurate, but instead helps us think about how history informs our movie making and how our movie making informs are historical memory. Guests are scholars who know their stuff, but are normal people who make their work accessible. Jason is a great host, who asks thoughtful questions & isn’t ashamed to be himself & let his guests take the spotlight on the pod.

I have enjoyed HATM on the app formerly known as the bird app for several years and the podcast is wonderful. Jason Herbert has curated conversations with scholars on beloved films. Great work!!
Love this podcast

Great, fun way to learn about history. Has a talking-about-movies-with-smart-friends vibe. But not at all film snobby!
Love the show!

I love listening to the #HATM podcast! It’s like listening to friends discuss their favorite movies, always a smart analysis and commentary of the movies, and often funny to boot! The #HATM community is one of the best on the internet, check it out!
