More Solo Episodes Please

John does a good job as host. He gives the listener solid Phillies content without biases. The best episodes are probably the solo ones. Justin can give quality content but tries way too hard to be funny. Liz essentially offers nothing but besides loudly cackling.

Errors and weather

Since they all play in the same conditions I wonder the number of errors by us vs the others combined? They don’t seem to count a lot of errors as errors, is there a defensive stat for these non-errors? Excellent pod!

Objective Review

John, Justin and Liz team up to make a formidable group discussing all things Phillies related.

John does a great job as host, leading the group discussion and moving from topic to topic. He’s knowledgeable, albeit sometimes overly optimistic, in his view of the team and does a good job driving and promoting discussion.

Justin, in my opinion, is the most enjoyable member to listen to among the group. His quick witted, dry sense of humor plays well with John and Liz’ more toned down approach. He seems to be the most knowledgeable in the group as well.

Respectfully, Liz is the only reason this Pod deserves 4/5 stars. She offers little in the way of actual analysis and tends to interject her political views into discussions with not-so-subtle comments. She oftentimes highlights race, outside the context of its (I guess?) somewhat normal discussion in sports, which oftentimes comes across as forced and leaves an awkward taste in the mouth. As someone who has listened for nearly two years, she’s also had more than a few awkward exchanges with John and Justin. She also tends to yell into her mic to the point it is jarring for the listener.

Overall, I’d still very much recommend this podcast with the caveat that Liz is anywhere from “not great” to “what is she talking about” bad. The stream of content is very good and if you’re a Phillies fan, there aren’t many Phillies related podcasts better.
