    Goodbye for Eppler

    Goodbye for Eppler

Grace is back with not a lot of news, but a lot of thoughts and opinions. First, while not a lot of baseball news, there is some stuff to talk about. Corey Kluber retired, Eppler's been banished, and Trevor Bauer services are neither wanted nor needed.
Then, Grace gets into the Grammys. The good, the bad, and the annoying, Grace gives her thoughts. She also laments the Oscars unwillingness to embrace their history in the way the Grammys has, and what modern award shows should look for in a host.
Finally, Grace gives her movie minute, shouting out a recent film from an Academy Award nominated filmmaker and then her entire filmography as well.

The Mets added/A background in flim-flam

The Mets added/A background in flim-flam

Welcome back to A Pod of Their Own, an all-women led Home Run Applesauce podcast where we talk all things Mets, social justice issues in baseball, and normalize female voices in the sports podcasting space.
This week, we begin by discussing the bullpen arms the Mets added: Adam Ottavino, Jake Diekman, and Shintaro Fujinami. With pitchers and catchers reporting this week, we also talk about our overall outlook on the roster and pray for a J.D. Martinez signing (or just another bat, any bat).
Next, we talk about Billy Eppler being placed on the ineligible list for the 2024 season for improper use of the injured list.
We also highlight three amazing women breaking barriers in baseball: lead play-by-play announcer for the Athletics Jenny Canvar, umpire Jen Pawol, and 16-year-old Shiki Nakayama, who plays on her high school’s baseball team in Japan.
Finally, we wrap things up with Walk-off Wins, where each of us talks about what’s making us happy this week, baseball-related or otherwise.

Best of Jerseys, Worst of Jerseys

Best of Jerseys, Worst of Jerseys

Grace is back with not a lot of news, but she makes it work. First, she discusses the Mets reliever moves of the past week, and she sums up the Mets offseason in one word: boring. And it's understandable, but it's still not fun.
Next, she goes into some general baseball and sports talk. First, she gets into the new Philly City Connect jerseys that leaked, as well as the news that the Nationals are retiring their City Connects, which leads to a bit of a rant. Then she talks about the new MLB The Show cover news, and why she actually likes the choice. Finally, she gets more serious and discusses the ethics and practices that seem to be all over the place when reporting on sexual assault issues in sports, brought into focus by the recent Vince McMahon news.
Finally, she gives her movie minute, a new WNBA documentary that she quite enjoyed, as well as talking about the golden age of women's sports documentaries we seem to be in (and hopes this will lead to more women's sports in film generally).

Argenis Reyes ,

Randy Tate

Thoroughly enjoy the UnforMETable podcast. However, I distinctly recall the late Randy Tate being a right handed pitcher.

Denverrpi ,

Amazin WOKE Podcast

This team is more interested in giving their woke take on the Mets than analyzing the team itself. The Mets sign Nimmo to a big deal and the first comment about it is that he is probably homophobic. This is a common theme generally. If you like listening to judgy woke takes this is your pod.

Very Amateur

In a world where there are dozens of podcasts for literally any super specific topic, if you are looking for a New York Mets only podcast, this is a great option if your preference is ill-informed opinions from people Who talk over each other, with terrible audio quality. And they curse a lot, so it’s… edgy? I dunno.
