How would you construct the ideal small ball lineup? Who would a more traditional lineup consist of? Davis and Cadeau seem like the two set in stone regardless of lineup style, but it’s pretty wide open after that.

Wednesday was the NBA Draft Early Entry withdrawal deadline and interestingly enough – both Coleman Hawkins and Ugonna Onyenso are coming back to college. Will North Carolina pursue one of them? There are currently conflicting rumors about whether Hubert Davis and crew will add any more players the roster. Today is Wednesday, May 29, a.k.a. NBA Draft Early Entry Withdrawal Deadline Day. The deadline is set for 11:59pm ET and there are still multiple big names on the board that need to make a decision, including Ugonna Onyenso and Coleman Hawkins. By the time we wake up on Thursday morning we should know if they (and other players) are available for North Carolina to consider for the 2024-25 basketball season.

Looking ahead to the class of 2025, the Tar Heels have been involved with both Boozer twins, with Cayden saying that Carolina is one of five teams purusing him the hardest (along with Duke, Miami, Kentucky, and Arkansas).

The Diamond Heels are preparing for their regional this weekend against LSU, Wofford, and Long Island. Many outlets are picking LSU to upset the Tar Heels. The men’s golf team fell in the quarterfinals on Tuesday.

As we get closer to the NBA Draft Early Entry Withdrawal Deadline, more and more names will start announcing their intentions. One such player is Arkansas’ rising redshirt-junior Trevon Brazile who will be returning to college, per Jeff Goodman. Brazile could return to John Calipari and Arkansas, but he is also in the transfer portal. The Tar Heels could utilize one more front court player to go along with Ven-Allen Lubin, Jalen Washington, Jae’lyn Withers, Zayden High, and James Brown.

The Diamond Heels are the No. 4 national seed and will host LSU, Wofford, and Long Island this weekend at Boshamer Stadium in the regional. LSU is the defending national champs…but they’re a different team this year.

Men’s Golf is in action in the national quarterfinals today against FSU and will play in the semifinals later today if they win.

Once Ven-Allen Lubin was healthy last season and settled into playing at Vandy, his numbers increased and would likely be more desirable to Tar Heel faithful. It’s important to not judge a players numbers without the context within which they were achieved. Lubin is, at worst, a frontcourt insurance policy to go along with the stellar backcourt and wings consisting of RJ Davis, Elliot Cadeau, Seth Trimble, Ian Jackson, Cade Tyson, and Drake Powell. At best, he’s a unique front court piece that could allow the Tar Heels to play unlike anything they’ve done in the Hubert Davis era. Because of those possibilities, it’s a good time to be reminded that we can’t accurately judge portal success or failure at this juncture because we haven’t seen the final product on court. Host Isaac Schade believes that IF Carolina continues pursuing Ugonna Onyenso and Coleman Hawkins, Onyenso would actually be a better fit in terms of need.

Drake Maye, Cedric Gray, and Tez Walker were the three Tar Heels drafted in the 2024 NFL Draft, plus five more who were signed as UDFAs. Which position will be the hardest, other than Maye, to replace? Of the landing spots for the now-pro Tar Heels, who fell to the best spot for them to thrive immediately?
