Awesome show- awful technician
I love this show but this season (post August) the podcasts are always messed up. The overtime repeats itself and this week's podcast repeats itself and does not contain the whole program. PLEASE FIX THIS.
Opposing views
Bill, I have been watching/listening to your show for 10 years, and have always been a big fan. However (and I say this purely as constructive criticism), recently I get the sense that you are less open to considering both sides of an issue, and more strongly present your personal feelings without considering opposing views. The war in Gaza being a good example. It doesn’t seem unreasonable to say that 2 things can be true - Oct 7 was horrific and Israel should be expected to go after Hamas, but doing it in a way that indiscriminately kills over 12,000 innocent children who have nothing to do with Hamas, is also wrong - and pointing that out doesn’t mean you don’t support the Israeli people, or have anything to do with antisemitism.
After 9/11 we had a similar situation, but went after AQ in a tactical/targeted manner. If we had started indiscriminately bombing cities and villages in Afghan-/Pakistan, the world would have been in an uproar. Likewise, in Iraq. It was extremely difficult to find the enemy embedded within the local population, and required a great deal of planning/intelligence/skill to do so without killing innocent civilians. If we had just decided to drop 2000lb bombs on Bagdhad or Fallujah, wiping out entire city centers and killing 10’s of thousands of innocent civilians, no one would have supported/defended that…because it would have so blatantly been a violation of the Geneva conventions and IHL.
I would just like to see/hear you present both sides of this, and all other issues. That was one thing about you I always appreciated, and lately I feel like you have been getting away from it.
Thank you for all you do, and I hope this helps.
Amazing podcast, release the video version!
This is an excellent podcast. They ought to release the video version so I could watch it on my video iPod! It would be highly popular I would think!
