Such a good pair of hosts!

I’ve followed Michael through all of his podcasts, and he’s always my favorite host. He finally has someone that matches him super well! Peter is fun and smart like Michael. Love this pod

Fine but Overhyped

I’m a big fan of the entire Sarah Marshall Extended Podcast Universe and first discovered Michael Hobbes via You’re Wrong About. Since then, I’ve become a huge fan of Hobbes and Gordon’s Maintenance Phase, and I think, in both cases, Hobbes’s methodologically minded, meticulous work is complemented by women co-hosts who are able to take the issues and culture seriously all while inserting humorous, incisive, and insightful comments throughout. They feed into Mike’s best instincts, and while I find this new co-host pleasant enough, I can’t help but feel like this podcast feels more pedantic in tone and—more importantly—less groundbreaking (their targets are, by and large, older and by now already much-maligned works). If Maintenance Phase and Hobbes-era You’re Wrong About did important work critiquing still-prevalent pseudoscience and popularizing lesser-known histories of moral panics, respectively, then this latest pod feels more like two intelligent men preaching to the choir. I’ve learned loads from what came before, but I’m still waiting for something new or revelatory here.

Love love love

I love it even more looking at the negative reviews which really prove their points. Peter and Michael are the best!
