Fun to listen to
I listen to Reel Spoilers and was looking for something similar. I don’t like movie reviewers who sound like they are reading a script or others who have no knowledge of film. These guys chat, sound comfortable, have insight and give interesting points of view. I’m a new listener and will start checking out prior episodes.
Hope it gets better,
and I may adjust if it improves with age, but so far there’s at least one person in each episode almost or completely ruining it. You have: the dude who says “like” constantly; the bloke who sounds like he was told his dog died before recording, so he smoked a bunch of indica then popped some ‘ludes equaling no energy or enthusiasm, and finally the guy who incessantly says, “to me, for me” and “for me, personally.” Sometimes, no joke, he goes “To me, at least for me, personally...” It’s obvious you’re expressing your own opinions and not those of the neighbors across the street. Add in the really annoying, albeit prevalent in most podcasts, habit of saying, e.g.: “Viggo Mortensen’s character,” every..single..time. You could cut ten minutes by establishing the characters’ names then using them, or after the first time say “Viggo” if you’re too lazy to learn them or don’t respect your listeners enough to presume we can follow along. How anyone with a developed sense of humor couldn’t love Sean and Hot Fuzz is beyond me, but yanks often need their comedy spoon fed to them with broad strokes, and most likely the one laconic, zombie-like co-host referenced above isn’t the target audience, regardless. 😉😅
One of my favorites for film dissection
Really enjoy this podcast and especially the Women In Session (all are great but Zita is hilarious and particularly wise). The boys are always solid with their differing opinions and intelligent insights. However the women tackle topics the boys miss.. and vice versa.
Could you ever come together to discuss a classic film or new release together? That’s what would truly be engaging to see you bounce ideas off of one another
Bravo all around.
