Wonderful find

Just found this wonderful podcast for movie lovers. Thank you guys!

painful to listen to

they’re fine when they’re interviewing someone, but otherwise Jake screams like he’s freebasing espresso and is the worst kind of obnoxious because he thinks he’s being funny by sounding immaturely argumentative, but he isn’t. It’s as if he’s auditioning to star in Step Brothers 2. Not to mention the eye-rolling and cringe-worthy segment where they read their own good reviews. It took 45 minutes before they got to the Joe Dante interview on the episode highlighting the Joe Dante interview. It rambled so long that I thought I downloaded the wrong episode. MAYBE George Lucas was just actively avoiding jake for fear of being screamed at about how great Jake thinks the podcast is? Sean seems to be the only one who has any skill at podcasting.

Entertaining, Educational, Excellent

In high school, I lived in a small town with no movie theater, yet every Friday morning my mother and I looked forward to seeing Kevin McCarthy on Fox & Friends giving his movie reviews. I discovered Reelblend from following Kevin’s twitter, and I’m ever so glad that I did.

I listen to this podcast walking to class, at the gym, and on the nine hour drive back to that small town. The fact that I can listen to Sean, Jake, and Kevin’s insights, then actually go see the movie in theaters is so satisfying that I can hardly contain myself.

These three are an ideal bridge between critic and audience. They see and understand things that I do not, yet they are able to enjoy the full picture that the film puts forward with an excitement that cinema deserves. Even so, the most striking aspect of this podcast is the way interviewees obviously appreciate the group, as they can sense the genuine excitement and passion about the field.

This podcast features high profile interviews, fun facts, behind-the-scenes information, and an enthusiasm that will make you want to talk about movies with all your friends all day long until they are thoroughly annoyed. Highly recommend.
