    Finite and Infinite

    Finite and Infinite

    Finite and Infinite

    Bare and cold,

    Brisk wind goes through,

    As if I am translucent,

    Consumed by its bitterness,

    Haunting sounds,

    As winds mysterious,

    Ghostly presence,

    Is felt not seen.

    Swaying trees skeletons,

    it's only evidence,

As they lean to and fro,

    One blow,

    Follows the other,

    As the battering,

    Has no mercy,

    Coldness cares not,

    For the shivering branches,

    I stand my ground,

    In awe and wonder,

    Raising my eyes,

    To behold this,

    in plain view,

    Not hidden in darkness,

    But here for my eyes,

    Nature's harshness,

    to itself,

    And yet,

    There is a beauty,

    A dark beauty,

    to this scene,

    Maybe wind knows,

    Some ancient mystery,

    Hidden from my knowing,

    I sense this,

    As I listen and watch,

    The sound,

    The howling,

    The swaying resistance,

    The fight to stand,

    Deep roots unseen,

    Deepening,

    Holding,

    Anchoring,

    Infinite wind,

    Reservoirs untapped,

    Will not exhaust,

    The battle lines,

    Right before me,

    It is an ancient ritual,

    Earth is made for this,

    I am made for this,

    The fight to stand,

    The strength of resolve,

    The power of nature,

    The finite and the infinite.

    Wonder

    Wonder

This enchanted world is made for wonder. Our souls long for the sweet unknown and we will find our way into the forests, lakes, oceans, fields, to explore the spirits of ages gone by.

We are born with this as a sixth sense. Children are in touch with it, often we former children have forgotten what a sense of wonder feels like. We sometimes feel the pull of this when we are drawn to some beauty or truth that grabs our attention for a moment.

What would happen to us if we decided to explore again, this sense of wonder? How would things be different? Would we have to give up our cynicism and maybe be open to a little faith? Maybe we could be ok with not knowing and trust that life knows.

A walk through the fields, in the deep woods, along the shore, with an open heart, could change the one who walks. The magnificence of life has not left us, we have left it.

    What Feels Good

    What Feels Good

Feeling good is the closest thing to feeling god. We have been made to feel that feeling good is somehow selfish or wrong and so we deny ourselves the goodness that comes from feeling good.
