In this Intro to Season 8, we kick off with a get-to-know-you session with our new coachee, Angie Browne! I believe she’s going to bring such an important and different angle from what we’ve had on the podcast in previous seasons and it’s going to serve all business owners in an entirely new way – plus, you get to listen to her amazing accent for the next six months (you’re welcome!)!

The work Angie does, who she serves, and the incredible path she’s been on that’s given her the business she has today
How the pandemic and social injustices in 2020 shifted and synthesized her 20 years of work and it’s illustration of adjusting plans to meet what we’re presented with as business owners
Why Angie wanted to work together (and why I honestly wondered if I was the right person to help her!) and what we talked through together before deciding this partnership was a good fit
Her favorite part of the LITerally podcast, her mindset around the public accountability that will come with broadcasted coaching sessions, and what interested her in The Partnership Model

Burnout, Balance, and Tradeoffs (Session 3 with Angie)
In Session 3 with Angie, we discuss prevalent challenges in the online space that aren’t always talked about publicly, specifically burnout, balance, and trade-offs. It’s so easy to skim over these things for the sake of upholding a public persona and marketing, and yet so many business owners are facing them. Whether you feel like you’ve been dancing in that burnout zone lately or have in the past, this episode is for you!
In this episode, you’ll hear:
The pitfalls of a “no time ISN’T work time” mentality
The real challenges of balancing motherhood and business
Permission to change your tradeoffs while acknowledging they’ll always be there (and why that’s okay)
Why I told Angie not to trust herself in this moment (when usually that’s the most important thing), and how that will serve her moving forward
What to do and not do when you present new things or shifts to existing clients
Differentiating between taking the time for yourself vs. the time showing up
The “Hard-Working Black Woman” lineage Angie is naming and experiencing, and an incredibly important conversation she’s opening up for everyone to participate in

Energy Management for Scaling (Close-Up with Lacey)
In this solo episode, we discuss where your energy is going in your business and why it’s crucial to make sure it’s supporting you – especially for businesses that are looking to scale. This is exactly where Angie is at in her business right now: she’s reached the elusive $30k month on her own, but her energy is zapped, so it feels like walking through mud to reach the next level. So, let’s start talking about what you need to do to manage your energy IN that process of scaling so you not only create scalability, but sustainability.
In this episode, you’ll hear:
Leaning into what works for you energy-wise, the problem with “traditional efficiency” conversations, and breaking down the sprint/rest approach
Why decision fatigue drains you and what it looks like to minimize it in your business
How burnout happens (and the yellow flags leading to it to be on the lookout for)
Solutions for planning around your energy (and harnessing those moments of big energy/big creative flow)
Delegating not only tasks, but also decisions, with clear purpose and intentionality behind it
The power of thinking of yourself as the most important asset in your business

External factors may not be exactly where we want them yet, but when we can name something and start to take small actions, those things start to show up and shifts start to occur quickly. If you’re in a season that feels heavy and results seem far away, this session is going to be evidence that lightness could actually be closer than you think.
In this episode, you’ll hear:
Angie’s realization around her spa day and how this is true for so many of us in so many ways
The importance of matching your natural rhythms and desires with your schedule and calendar
Doing something that feels challenging for the first time in business, how to think about it, and create ease and momentum after

Fast mindset shifts ahead
I am preparing to launch my first book in a few months, so I came to this podcast hoping to get some grousing advice for mindset and sales principles to push me through. And boy did it deliver! Understanding that I’m not the only one who gets stuck in the same patterns has helped me let go of that story and shift faster. My mindset leading up to this book launch has been rock solid because of all the ways Lacey gently challenges her clients in the different seasons and I’ve picked up reminders of the simplicity of sales too. I’ve seen myself in every client and have definitely been coached from afar through their experience. I am grateful for the gift of this podcast in this season for me!
Awesome business podcast

My favorite biz podcast out there!
I’m truly obsessed with this podcast - I absolutely LOVE the transparency and the conversations that happen during each seasons coaching client. I truly feel like a fly on the wall listening to invaluable information that gives me a new perspective to my own business. Thank you for this, Lacey!
