The Local Side of Key West

Kelly and Keith produce good, informative content with a humorous back and forth. It’s nice to keep up on the local goings on when not in KW. Keep up the good work!

You can learn a lot about a city by reading tombstones. The foodie tour Kelly reserved for us actually showed us Richard Peacon house and Peacon lane which you mentioned in the podcast. Mr Peacon built it for his large family. An out of towner saw it and kept offering money to Mr. Peacon to purchase it. Peacon kept turning him down. Eventually the out of towner finally offered a rate Peacon couldn’t refuse. The tour guide said that this was the start of the Key West inflated housing market. (Late 1800’s). Peacon was able to get the lane named after him. The guide did not mention that Calvin Klein owned the house at one point. As usual, can’t wait to make it back to the Keys. Good luck with the new business.

I visit the keys at least twice a year, and when I’m not there I am reading, watching, and listening to all things Florida Keys. Kelly and Keith’s insider info gives me a fix in between trips. I listen at work and keep a pen and paper handy to make a list of new places to try. Love this podcast!

My wife and I rented a golf cart from Kelly and Keith last week. Their service was top notch and they were genuinely nice people. We have been long time listeners of their podcast and it was a pleasure to meet them in person. We have future events planned in Key West and we will definitely be using their services again.
