    Thoughts of fear, whether real or imagined, can cause us to not move ahead with any of our dreams or goals 😨  Every human on earth at one time or another feels this “fear” and reverts back into their “safety” or comfort zone ⛑️.
    The system was created to protect us in times of real danger but we must learn to distinguish between real or imagined danger.  Most fears are illusions we create in our own heads, based on past conditioning and not based on what's possible.  As children, we are natural-born risk takers and for the most part, we are fearless. 💪
    When we feel fear, we're playing a mental track that's not conducive to growth.
    Understanding fear at the root  can lead to feeling more empowered and in control of our lives.

    Setting Achievable Goals For 2022 With Dr. Nafisa Sekandari

    So many people start the year off strong but by mid February they lose interest in their goals.  This usually has to do with not setting clear and specific goals that create motivation instead of overwhelm.
     In this episode I break down the steps you need to take to set goals that are achievable.  It starts by writing them down.  Getting a clear vision through writing your goals will activate your Reticular Activating System (RAS) to move towards accomplishing your goals.  One way to get clear is to break goals down in 5 categories and then write specific action steps beneath each category.  For example:
    1.)   Health
    a. Cook meals at home 3 days a week
    b.   Buy groceries based on the EWG’s Clean 15 and Dirty Dozen 
    c.  Go to the gym 4 days a week
    2.) Relationships
    a. Improve communication skills
    b.   Express myself more when I’m upset
    3.) Spirituality
    a. Meditate more
    b.   Wait an hour before checking emails and social media
    c.    Document what I’m grateful for every day.
    4.) Finances
    a.  Automatically save $100 every month
    b.   Have a budget of $_____ for entertainment
    c.    Paying off credit card debt
    5.)  Career
    a.  Ask for a raise at work
    b.                  Improve my skills in the area of ____
    c. Update my resume
     Your list can look similar or different than the list above but keep adding to each category so you have a very clear vision of what is required for each category.  Once you meet the goal, cross it off and add another goal.

    The holidays are upon us and for some this is the season of joy....but for others it can mean stress, anxiety, and depression. 

    With all of the great food and fun times during the holidays, inevitably there is usually a bit of conflict. 
    From your overly-political aunt to your mother-in-law who keeps asking when you're going to have a baby, the holidays .....and many of the conversations we have with our loved ones.... can end up being much more stressful than we think.  
    While we can’t totally  avoid the stressful conversations and situations you find yourself in during the holiday season,  in this episode (which originally aired on clubhouse), Hosai and I help equip you with tools for tackling these challenges and not allowing them to rob you of the joy this time of year brings!
     We address setting healthy boundaries, self care before and during the social event, as well as preparation in the areas of mental, emotional, and physical for these social settings.

    Mindfullness is also considered  mindtraining according to Dr. Mitch Abblett, a clinical psychologist, author, consultant and national / international speaker. 
    Dr. Abblett shares his own journey to practicing mindfulness and tells us how we can implement mindfulness in our own lives.  He also distinguishes between mindfulness and meditation, which he says are not interchangeable terms.  For example, you can meditate and not be mindful.
